Deansgate, Deansgate Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Crane Removal
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC144193594: The City of Manchester (Deansgate, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Deansgate between Whitworth Street West and Liverpool Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Whitworth Street West, Albion Street, Great Bridgewater Street & Liverpool Road, Water Street, Trinity Way, Chester Road Roundabout. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate crane removal. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20:00hrs on 1st August 2025 an 05:00hrs 4th August 2025 with backup dates of 15th August 2025 and 18th August 2025 with the same timings. The order shall come into operation on 1st August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
