(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highways in the County of Northumberland:
A192 Astley Road from its point outside number 19 Astley Road for a distance of 221 metres in a north-westerly direction.
U9535 Manners Gardens Astley Road Back Lane from its junction with Astley Road for a distance of 50 metres in a north-easterly direction.
The Order is to be effective from the 4th August 2025 until the 4th February 2026.
It is expected that the A192 Astley Road will only be closed from the 17th August 2025 until the 19th August 2025 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period, however, the order will remain in place until the 4th February 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A192, U9706, A190, A192 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
It is expected that the U9535 Manners Gardens Astley Road Back Lane will only be closed from the 17th August 2025 until the 19th August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 during this period, however, the order will remain in place until the 4th February 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being U9535, A190, A192, U9535 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council for carriageway resurfacing and associated works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
