What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Alec Rose Lane) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.115) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 15th July 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
ALEC ROSE LANE

From its junction with Guildhall Walk to Highbury City of Portsmouth Centre.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate crane works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
For one day on 15th July 2025.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Guildhall Walk, White Swan Road, St Michaels Road, King Richard I Road, Winston Churchill Avenue, Winston Churchill Avenue Roundabout, Isambard Brunel Road, Alec Rose Lane and Alec Rose Lane, Isambard Brunel Road, Commercial Road, Stanhope Road, Unicorn Road, Alfred Road, Anglesea Road, St Michaels Road, King Richard I Road, Guildhall Walk.
Pedestrian diversion - Guildhall Walk - Guildhall Square - Guildhall Square Steps And Pedestrian Area At Upper Level - Alec Rose Lane (via steps) or Guildhall Square - Isambard Brunel Road - Charles Dickens Street - Alec Rose Lane and vice versa.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
