Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road TrafficRegulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular
access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for
cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 21st July 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried
out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A488 between Clun and Colebatch
Date & Duration: 27th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Alternative Route : A488, B4385, B4368
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4370 between Cwm Head and A489
Date & Duration: 27th July 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Road Closure is required for pole testing.
Alternative Route : B4370, A49, A489, B4370
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4375 High Street, Broseley
Date & Duration: 27th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Cadent-New service connection
Alternative Route : B4375, B4376, Bridgnorth Road, B4373, B4375
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5069 St Martins Road, Gobowen
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 12 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Deep excavation to repair waste water pipe work.
Alternative Route : B5069, B5070, A5, B5009, St Martins Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Canonbury, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, MJ Quinn working on behalf of BT / Openreach to install a floor box and to clear blockages within footway.
Alternative Route : Kennedy Road, Butler Road, Ashton Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cedar Avenue, Shawbury
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay new gas service.
Alternative Route : Mytton lane, Pinewood Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Crowmere Road, Shrewsbury. At the same time there will be a No right turn out of Grinshill Drive and No left turn outside Freer Meadow
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 40 days
Purpose: One Way Closure - Cadent Gas main replacement works.
Alternative Route : A5112, Woodcote Way, Monkmoor Road, Abbots Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Footpath Connecting Ditherington Road And Comet Drive, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure - Cadent Gas, critical maintenance of gas main.
Alternative Route : Ditherington Road, Comet Drive
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Habberley Road, Pontesbury
Date & Duration: 27th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, small hydrant install.
Alternative Route : A488, Unnamed road East through Plealey, Unnamed road South West through Longden, Longden Common and towards Pulverbatch, Puntley Road, Unnamed road North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Longslow Road, Market Drayton
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Long Com Pipe Renew
Alternative Route : Cemetery Road, Prospect Road and Longslow Road
Description of restriction: The one way order will be reversed on Meadow Place, Shrewsbury to allow access.
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 26 days
Purpose: Reversal of the one way order on Meadow Place in connection with the resurfacing works for Station Quarter. Restriction will be indicated by signs on site
Alternative Route : Not applicable
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling in an Eastbound direction between Bank Farm road towards Island on Longden Road (West), Shrewsbury at the same time there will be a no right turn on Priory road
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 22 days
Purpose: One Way Closure - Cadent Gas, main replacement works.
Alternative Route : Bank Farm Road, A488, B4380
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling Eastbound away from Island towards Longden Coleham on Longden road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 15 days
Purpose: One Way Closure - Cadent Gas, main replacement scheme.
Alternative Route : A5112, A458, Coleham Head, Longden Coleham, Longden Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Middleton Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 43 days
Purpose: Road closure - Mains replacement scheme.
Alternative Route : Salop Road, Shrewsbury Road, College Road, Middleton Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using New Road, Oreton
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 9 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Excavation of Old Meter and PRV.
Adjustment of Pipework set up. Re-build of chamber.
Alternative Route : New Road, Unnamed road North East, Oreton Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Park Lane, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 24th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water- Remedial works following a failed inspection due to coated chips not rolled into surface course sufficiently
Alternative Route : Park Lane, Wolverhampton Road, Upton Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4397 Burlton to Loppington
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 11 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : A528, A495, B5063
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A529 County Boundary to Adderley
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: Installation of vehicle safety barrier at bridge
Alternative Route : A525, A51, A53, A529
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Ash Road, Whitchurch
Date & Duration: 24th July 2025 for 8 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : A525, B5395, A41, Ash Lane, Ash Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4368 Corvedale Road, Craven Arms
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Capital resurfacing scheme

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Newport Road and High Street, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 24th July 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using St Marys Street, Whitchurch
Date & Duration: 24th July 2025 for 1 day 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Renew defective frame and cover
Alternative Route : High Street, Church Street, St Marys Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Bings Heath and Poynton Green
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 12 days
Purpose: Connection of new 150mm foul water sewer from new day care centre passing down the side of Greenfields property in to existing manhole located in the road to the front of the property
Alternative Route : A53, B5063, Unnamed road West through Poynton Green and Bings Heath
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Badger Lane and Beckbury
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 x decayed wooden BT pole
Alternative Route : Madley Lane, Caynton Road, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road
South towards Burnhill Green, Snowdon Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Bromlow and A488
Date & Duration: 23rd July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Small PRV Renew
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Lordstone Lane, B4499, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Claverley and Farmcote
Date & Duration: 22nd July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West through Upper Farmcote, A458, Unnamed road North East through Lower Beobridge, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Comley and Botvyle
Date & Duration: 24th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, pole replacement works.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West through Botvyle, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South East towards Comley
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Plealey and Pontesford, Plealey
Date & Duration: 21st July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, new water connection.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East, Shorthill, A488, Unnamed road East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Wilcott and Pentre
Date & Duration: 22nd July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, small sluice valve install.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed North West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road off Doley Road, Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 25th July 2025 between 09:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary Box Installation
Alternative Route : Doley Road, Unnamed road North, Moss Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Colemere, Ellesmere
Date & Duration: 23rd July 2025 for 1 day between 09:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road closure - Replace pole in verge.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road
North, Unnamed road North West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Alderton
Date & Duration: 23rd July 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary Box install
Alternative Route : B4576, Unnamed road West to Alderton
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Chapel Bank, Wistanswick
Date & Duration: 23rd July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Small Sluice Valve
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, A41, Unnamed road South West
