What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
C399 BOOTHS ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C399 Booths Road Ashington from its junction with the U6701 heading in a north westerly direction for a length of 80 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 19th July 2025 until the 7th September 2025
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 19th July 2025 until the 31st August 2025 and that it will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th September 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C399, A197, A196, U6702, U6701 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by United Living Infrastructure Services on behalf of Northumbrian Water to install a new water main. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
