TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C349 THE STREET, NACTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C349 The Street, Nacton from the railway bridge for 20 metres northbound and 20 metres southbound to facilitate a bridge examination. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Felixstowe Road, Bridge Road, Nacton Road, Levington Road, The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10pm on 21/07/2025 – 5am on 22/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1075 OLD CATTLE MARKET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the:

•  B1075 Old Cattle Market, Ipswich from Coachmans Court to no. 2 – 5 Old Cattle Market

•  B1075 Old Cattle Market, Ipswich from Falcon Street for 40 metres eastbound.

This is to facilitate remedial water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

• Westbound: Franciscan Way, Greyfriars Road, Star Lane, Waterworks Street, Eagle Street, Orwell Place, Tacket Street and no vice versa.

• Southbound: St Peters Street, Star Lane, Waterworks, Eagle Street, Orwell Place, Tacket Street and no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 6pm on 20/07/2025 – 5am on 21/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4428 CHURCH LANE, SPROUGHTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4428 Church Lane, Sproughton from Gipping Way for 150 metres southbound to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

There will be no diversion route.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/07/2025 – 21/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A144 HALESWORTH ROAD, WENHASTON WITH MELLS HAMLET

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A144 Halesworth Road, Wenhaston with Mells Hamlet from the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate a safety inspection and repairs to the level crossing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A145, the A146, the A143, the A144 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11pm on 21/07/2025 – 5am on 22/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A1092 STOUR STREET, CAVENDISH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A1092 Stour Street, Cavendish from 235 metres east of Mill Lane for 30 metres westbound to facilitate a water supply replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A134, the A131, the A1141, the A1017 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10pm on 20/07/2025 – 5am on 27/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C509 CHURCH ROAD, WINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C509 Church Road, Wingfield from 564 metres northeast of the junction with Top Road for 20 metres north eastbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Top Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 – 23/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1730 PRIORY ROAD, WRENTHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1730 Priory Road, Wrentham from 70 metres west of the junction with Priory Farm for 150 metres south westbound to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Priory Road, the A12, the B1127 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/07/2025 from 9.30am – 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C660 DENHAM ROAD, DALHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C660 Denham Road, Dalham from 20 metres east of Dunstall Green Road for 200 metres eastbound to facilitate the reinstatement of water access point. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Barrow Hill, Bury Road, Dunstall Green Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 – 30/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C944 BUNGAY ROAD, HOLTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C944 Bungay Road, Holton from the junction with Harrisons Lane for 600 metres south eastbound to facilitate creating vehicular access. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Fair View Road, the A144, the A12, the B1123, the B1124 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 – 25/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7419 BRANDS LANE, BRADFIELD COMBUST

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7419 Brands Lane, Bradfield Combust from Woolpit House for 30 metres westbound to facilitate repair water chamber. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Whepstead Road, Lawshall Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 – 23/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C427 CHURCH ROAD, BEYTON ROAD, AND ROADS BOUNDING BEYTON GREEN AND C560 THURSTON, BEYTON AND HESSETT

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

1. • the C427 Church Road, Beyton from The Old Rectory for 473 metres southbound

    • the C427 Beyton Road, Hessett

    •  the C560 Thurston Road, Beyton from the junction with the roads bounding

    •  Beyton Green for 40 metres northbound

    •  the C427 Roads Bounding Beyton Green, Beyton from The Old School House to the junction with Thurston Road.

This is to facilitate works to a telecommunications infrastructure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. (for Church Road/Beyton Road) Church Road, Bury Road, Drinkstone Road, Cangles Lane, Quaker Lane and vice versa

2. (for roads bounding Beyton Green/Thurston Road) Thurston Road, Beyton Road, Thurston Road, New Road, Bury Road, roads bounding Beyton Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

1. 21/07/2025 – 05/08/2025

2. 06/08/2025 – 12/08/2025.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C704 BRETTENHAM ROAD AND THE U4508 MILL ROAD, BUXHALL

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

•  the C704 Brettenham Road, Buxhall from the junction with Mill Road to the junction with Louse Lane

•  the U4508 Mill Road, Buxhall from the junction with Rattlesden Road to the junction with Brettenham Road.

This is to facilitate the clearing of telecommunication ducts and chambers. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Brettenham Road, Hartest Road, Brettenham Road, The Water Run, High Road, Buxhall Road, Purple Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 – 30/07/2025 from 8pm – 6am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C559 ROAD FROM THE A1088 TO THURSTON, NORTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C559 Road from the A1088 to Thurston, Norton from Elms Farm for 30 metres westbound to facilitate a water meter exchange. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ixworth Road, Thurston Road, the A143 Ixworth, the A1088 Stow Lane, the A1088 Ixworth Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/07/2025 from 8am - 1pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3722 EAST LANE, BAWDSEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3722 East Lane, Bawdsey from no. 3 - no. 9 to facilitate a link box replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, School Lane, East Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/07/2025 - 25/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7216 School Road, Kedington from no. 26 for 20 metres northbound to facilitate repairs to a water ferrule. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Mill Road, Haverhill Road, White Horse Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 - 23/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C659 ASHFIELD GREEN AND C664 COLTSFOOT GREEN, WICKHAMBROOK

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

• C659 Ashfield Green Wickhambrook from the Road from A143 to C659, Depden to Coltsfoot Green

• C664 Coltsfoot Green, Wickhambrook from Ashfield Green to Cemetery Road.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Cemetery Road Wickhambrook, the B1063 Front Street, Bury Road, Ladys Green Ousden, Ousden Road, The Green, Wickhambrook Road Hargrave, Ashfield Green Wickhambrook and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 - 25/07/2025 from 8am - 5pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4906 Leys Road, Tostock and the C561 The Green, Tostock from The Cottage for 20 metres westbound to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Green, Norton Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/07/2025 - 25/07/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following footpaths:

•  Footpath 51, Martlesham from Footpath 30, Martlesham for 300 metres northbound.

This is for safety reasons to facilitate earth works and landscaping. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

There will be no alternative route.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U2508 BALDWIN AVENUE, THE U2509 LANCASTER AVENUE, U2510 SEVERN ROAD AND THE U2534 PRINCE CHARLES DRIVE, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

1. •  U2508 Baldwin Avenue, Bury St Edmunds

    • U2509 Lancaster Avenue, Bury St Edmunds

    • U2508 Baldwin Avenue, Bury St Edmunds

    • U2510 Severn Road, Bury St Edmunds

    • U2534 Prince Charles Drive, Bury St Edmunds.

This is to facilitate the reconstruction of carriageway speed humps and road markings. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. Northumberland Avenue and vice versa.

2. Prince Charles Avenue, Gloucester Road, Baldwin Avenue and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/07/2025 – 23/07/2025 from 7pm – 5am. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF ST EDMUNDSBURY) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES)

(MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (HAVERHILL) (CHALKSTONE WAY) (C670) (DONOVAN WAY) (CHISNELL ROAD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.10) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3) 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would replace revision 0 of the Map Tiles bearing the reference GG29 and GH29 with the amended revision 1 of the Map Tiles bearing the same reference, into the above named 2019 order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

1. ‘No waiting at any time’ except buses on Chalkstone Way (C670), north side, from a point 7m south-east from its junction with Westfield Primary Academy access to south-east for a total distance of 25m

2. ‘No waiting at any time’ on:

• Chalkstone Way (C670), both sides, from a point 13m north-west from its junction with Falcon Close (U6840) to north-west for a total distance of 46m

• Donovan Way (U6850), both sides, from its junction with Chalkstone Way (C670) for a distance of 57m in a north-easterly direction

• Donovan Way (U6850), both sides, from a point 15m south-west of its junction with Archer Way (U6850) to north-east for a total distance of 87m, and also extending 10m into its access road with Archer Way (U6850) and 7m into its access road with Poole Close (U6850)

• Chisnell Road (U6850), both sides, from its junction with Donovan Way for a distance of 90m in an easterly direction, and extending 10m into its access road with Walters Drive (U6850)

• Chisnell Road (U6850), both sides, from a point 15m north-west from its junction with Freeman Close (U6850) to south-east for a total distance of 30m, and extending into its access road with Freeman Close (U6850)

• Chisnell Road (U6850), both sides, from a point 38m south-east from its junction with Freeman Close (U6850) in a southeasterly direction then, following the bend, in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 33m

• Chisnell Road (U6850), both sides, from a point 14m south-west from its junction with Taylor Drive (U6850) to north-east for a total distance of 31m, and extending into its access road with Taylor Drive (U6850)

• Chisnell Road (U6850), both sides, from a point 12m south-west from its junction with Archer Way to north-east for a total distance of 38m, and extending into its access roads to Archer Way (U6850) and an access starting at a point 6 metres from the north-eastern extension of these restrictions.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load or unload; for building, industrial or demolition works; for the maintenance of the road or its services; for emergency services, and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge holders.

Suffolk County Council previously advertised this proposal on 23/10/2024 and 17/12/2024, with the consultation periods ending on 13/11/2024 and 10/01/2025 respectively. However, in consideration of the objections received, this proposal is being readvertised with proposed reduced double yellow lining along portions of Chisnell Road on its north side, and portions of Donovan Way on both sides. Any representations received during the previous consultation will be considered at the end of the current consultation along with any new representations received.

A copy of the draft order and plans showing the road affected, together with a copy of the council’s reasons for this proposal, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also Haverhill Library, Camps Road, Haverhill, CB9 8HB: Monday 9am - 1pm, Tuesday 9am - 7pm, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday 9am - 4.30pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.
