Ancrum, Jedburgh, Tweedbank, Galashiels - Temporary Closing Order and Temporary Traffic Regulation

What is happening?

Scottish Borders Council

(B6400 ASHIEBURN, ANCRUM)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (B6400 Ashieburn, Ancrum) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on  14 July 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 19:00 on  18 July 2025. The Order is required for Scottish Water works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B6400 at Ashieburn, Ancrum.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6400, B6359, A699, A68 and B6400 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(B6400 ANCRUM BRIDGE, ANCRUM)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (B6400 Ancrum Bridge, Ancrum) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order,  which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force  on 15 July 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of  two days between the hours of 08:30 and 16:00 each day. The Order is required for resurfacing & surface patching.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B6400 at Ancrum Bridge, Ancrum.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6400, A68, A699, B6359 and B6400 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(D150/3 WESTER ULSTON, JEDBURGH)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (D150/3 Wester Ulston, Jedburgh) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 15 July 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 19:00 on 22 July 2025. The Order is required for Scottish Water works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D150/3 at Wester Ulston, Jedburgh.

The alternative route for north eastbound traffic is via the D150/3, C63, A698, D150/4 and D150/3 to the point of closure, for south westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(COTGREEN ROAD, TWEEDBANK)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Cotgreen Road, Tweedbank) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order,  which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 16 July 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of three days between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 each day. The Order is required for resurfacing works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Cotgreen Road from Tweedbank Drive to the Primary School.

There is no alternative route. Local consultation will take place with affected residents/businesses and detailed advance warning signs will be installed prior to start of works.

(SIME PLACE & BRIDGE STREET, GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Sime Place & Bridge Street, Galashiels) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 18 July 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 30 July 2025 – 24 hour closure and restrictions. The Order is required to carry out works to permanently reinstate the carriageway.

When the Order comes into effect, in Galashiels town centre:

(a)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Sime Place from High Street northwards for 35 metres.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is via Bridge Place, Ladhope Vale, Currie Road, Gala Water Bridge, Paton Street, Bank Street and High Street to the point of closure; and

(b)  no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on Sime Place and Bridge Street; and

(c)   The Scottish Borders Council (The Borders Regional Council)

(Various Streets, Galashiels) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 1990
(as amended) will be further amended as follows: the One Way Orders on (i) Sime Place, and (ii) Bridge Street will be revoked for the duration of this Order.
