What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Clarence Road, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CLARENCE ROAD, DORCHESTER from its junction with Queens Avenue for a distance of approximately 125 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 July 2025.
This Order will enable SGN, safe access to upgrade gas main.
An alternative route will be signed using: Queens Avenue - Weymouth Avenue - Maiden Castle Road - Clarence Road - Garfield Avenue - James Road - Treves Road.

Temporary Closure of Backwater, Puddletown
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Backwater, Puddletown between its junctions with The Moor and Mill Street, a distance of approximately 165 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 September 2025.
The Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential works to retaining wall.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of Maiden Castle Road, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along MAIDEN CASTLE ROAD, DORCHESTER between its junction with Celtic Crescent and no. 46, a distance of approximately 315 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13 August 2025.
This Order will enable SGN, safe access to upgrade gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Celtic Crescent - Maiden Castle Road.
