Wiltshire, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C293 (Part), Allington; from its junction with A338 for a distance of approximately 380m in a north easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out to complete a full relining of the sewers in order to reduce infiltration and sewerage overflows. Alternative route via C293 (unaffected length) – Amesbury Road – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 August 2025 and the closure will be required until 12 September 2025. B) Underwood Drive (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Stockport Avenue for a distance of approximately 60m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to replace twin 600x700 man hole covers for lighter maintenance in tarmac highway. Alternative route via Underwood Drive (unaffected length) – Boscombe Road – Porton Road – Main Road – Salisbury Road – Stockport Avenue and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 August 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

C) C62 (Part), Donhead St Mary and Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with C311 to its junction with UC 892502 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overruns and associated works. Alternative route via C62 (unaffected length) – C310 – C311 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. D) C64 (Part), Wylye; from its junction with Fore Street to its junction with Dyer Lane to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via Dyer Lane – Teapot Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. E) Lower Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Cecil Terrace for a distance of approximately 100m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out communication equipment upgrade and associated works. Alternative route via Lower Road (unaffected length) – A3094 – A36 – Fisherton Street – Southwestern Road – Mill Road – Churchfields Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. For further information please contact Circet on 07971 142611.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

F) Witt Road, Winterbourne; from its junction with The Common for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out communication equipment upgrades and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. G) Charlton Lane (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with Watery Lane to its property known as Spring Farm to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out HV and associated works. Alternative route via UC 912201 (The Street – Charlton Lane (unaffected length)) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 14:00 for 1 day. H) UC 912203 (Part), Donhead St Andrew, Donhead St Mary and Berwick St John; from its junction with C312 to its junction with A30 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overruns and associated works. Alternative route via UC 912206 – C12 – A30 – C295 – C312 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 for 5 days. I) UC 921500 (Part), Grimstead, Pitton and Farley; from its property known as Bracken Farm for a distance of approximately 500m in a northerly direction to its junction with C321 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overruns and associated works. Alternative route via UC 921500 (unaffected length) – C321 – C289 – C331 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 18 July 2025. The closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to temporarily introduce a prohibition of right hand turn on:

St Johns Street, Salisbury. From its junction with St Johns Street to its junction with Ivy Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out traffic signal upgrades and associated works. Alternative route via Catherine Street – Milford Street – Brown Street. Alternative route HGV via New Street – Crane Street – Cranebridge Street – Mill Road – Southwestern Road – Fisherton Street – Bridge Street – Silver Street – Minster Street – Blue Boar Road – Winchester Street – Brown Street.

The prohibition of turn and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the restriction will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 until 08 August 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
