TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway.
i. A59 Liverpool Road, Hutton from its junction with A59 Longton Bypass for a distance of 20 metres in a north easterly direction.
ii. A59 Longton Bypass, Hutton from its junction with A59 Liverpool Road for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction.
iii. Liverpool Road, Hutton from its junction with A59 Liverpool Road for a distance of 20 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 20:00 hours to 0500 hours from Thursday 17th July 2025 until Monday 28th July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: -
Vehicular Diversion Liverpool Road – John Horrocks Way – Golden Way – Penwortham Way – Chain House Lane – Wham Lane – Station Road – Chapel Lane – Chapel Park Road – Chapel Lane – Liverpool Road and vice versa
HGV Diversion Liverpool Road – John Horrocks Way – Golden Way – Penwortham Way – Flensburg Way – Schleswig Way – Dunkirk Lane – Cocker Bar Road – North Road – Carr House Lane – Liverpool Road – Longton Bypass and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out.
