have made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being
or proposed to be executed on or near the road and the effect
will be to prohibit any vehicle/pedestrian from proceeding in
that section of road that comprises of the railway level
crossing area on Station Road at Askern in the City of
Doncaster District and suspend the 7.5 tonne weight
restriction as described in the Schedule to this notice on the
dates and times referred to in the said Schedule
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the
workforce whilst the annual level crossing maintenance is
undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles
affected by the Order is via Station Road, High Street,
Doncaster Road, Askern Road, Arksey Lane, Almholme Lane,
Fordstead Lane, Fordstead Lane From Thorpe Bank To Marsh
Lane, Thorpe Bank, Marsh Road, Moss Lane, Trumfleet Lane,
Moss Road and vice versa.

2) Suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on Fordstead

07:00hrs 15th July 2025 until 17:00hrs 17th July 2025.
In the event of engineering difficulties and/or adverse weather
conditions, the closure may extend beyond this date although
all closures to be completed by the 31st August 2025.
