What is happening?


THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL

(PENN ROAD & LEA ROAD) (TEMPORARY

PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting traffic from proceeding on the following stretches of highway:

· Penn Road Footway closed inbound between the junctions of Lea Road and property 46. Pedestrian Diversion Route Ring Road, Merridale Street,
Williamson Street, Mander Street, Retreat Street, Lea Road and vice versa. The closure of the footpath may operate for a maximum period of six
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 21 July 2025 until 8 August 2025.

· Lea Road closed in an eastern direction only from opposite the entrance to McDonalds to the junction with Penn Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Lea
Road, Stubbs Road and Penn Road.

· Retreat Street closed in both directions at its junction with Lea Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Upper Zoar Street, Mander Street and vice versa.
The closure of Lea Road and Retreat Street may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 11 August 2025 until 25 August 2025.

The Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement by Cadent Gas.
