What is happening?
SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and
Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure
Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)
Various Footpaths and Bridleway (Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order 2024 (“the Order”)
EXTENSION
1. Sheffield City Council (Council) gives notice that the Secretary of State has granted an Extension to the Order made in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 over an area of the highway named in the schedule to the Order.
2. The Extension to the Order was granted because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said highway.
3. The Order made on 18 January 2024 was approved by the Secretary of State and an extension to the Order will continue in effect until 18 January 2026 or until completion of works, whichever is earlier.
4. The restriction specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of notices.
5. While the Order is in operation: it will prohibit any pedestrian from travelling in the length of footpath as described in the schedule to the Order.
6. The alternative route for the traffic affected by this Order will be signed on site.
