What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROAD CLOSURES IN RESPECT OF INSPECTION AND
MAINTENANCE OF OVERHEAD CABLES) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
Pipers Row closed in both directions between its junction with Bilston Street to its
junction with Lichfield Street. Vehicular Diversion Route: Fryer Street, Broad Street, Ring Road, Snow Hill, St Georges Parade, Bilston Street. It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 11 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00. It is anticipated that the following closures will operate on 15 July 2025 and 16 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00:
Pipers Row closed in both directions between its junction with Bilston Street to its
junction with Tower Street.
St Georges Parade closed in both directions between its junction with Bilston Street to its junction with Cleveland Street.
Garrick Street closed in both directions between its junction with Bilston Street to its junction with Cleveland Street.
Snow Hill closed one way, inbound, from its junction with Ring Road to its junction with Cleveland Street.
Bilston Street closed in both directions between its junction with Cleveland Street to its junction with Ring Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Berry Street, Princess Street, Princess Square, Broad Street, Ring Road.
Bus Lane closure, inbound only, on Dudley Road from the junction with Grove Street to the junction with Ring Road.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on the dates stipulated above, between the times detailed.
The Order is required to facilitate the inspection and maintenance of overhead lines by Centro.
