Rochdale Road, Bridge Street And Elizabethan Way (A640) - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicles Order And Temporary Prohibition Of Waiting At Any Time Order

What is happening?

BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE

ROCHDALE ROAD, BRIDGE STREET AND ELIZABETHAN WAY (A640), MILNROW
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES ORDER AND TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME ORDER) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles and temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time along:

(i) Rochdale Road – from its junction with Bridge Street and Elizabethan Way for a distance of 20 metres in a north westerly direction.

(ii) Bridge Street – from its junction with Rochdale Road and Elizabethan Way for a distance of 30 metres in an easterly direction.

(iii) Elizabethan Way, A640 – from its junction with Bridge Street and Rochdale Road for a distance of 66 metres in a southerly direction.

The Order is required to facilitate safe gas mains replacement works within the footway and carriageway. The Order will be operative from 00:00 on the 28th July 2025 until 23:59 on the 1st September 2025 or before then if the works are completed sooner.

The various alternative routes for vehicles will be via: - Elizabethan Way, Newhey Road, Dale Street, Kiln Lane, Wildhouse Lane, Milnrow Road (Littleborough), Smithy Bridge Road, Halifax Road (A58), Albert Royds Street (A664), Milnrow Road (Rochdale), Rochdale Road & vice versa. Bridge Street, Kiln Lane, Wildhouse Lane, Milnrow Road (Littleborough), Smithy Bridge Road, Halifax Road (A58), Albert Royds Street (A664), Milnrow Road (Rochdale), Rochdale Road & vice versa. Rochdale Road, Milnrow Road (Rochdale), Kingsway (A664), Sir Isaac Newton Way (A6193), Elizabethan Way (A640) & vice versa.
