Church Street South North Back, South Hylton - Temporary Traffic Regulation
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (CLOSURE OF CHURCH STREET SOUTH NORTH BACK, SOUTH HYLTON, SUNDERLAND) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all vehicles along Church Street South North Back for its entire extent. The Order is required to facilitate sewer investigation, repair and installation works in or near the roads. The Order will come into operation on 8th August 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated the closure will only be for approximately 10 weeks from the commencement of the works. All vehicles will be prohibited from the above road (except vehicles involved in the works) until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
