Medway, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is happening?
HIGH STREET, CHATHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable gas disconnection works to be carried out -
High Street, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between The Brook and Upbury Way. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via The Brook and Union Street. The ‘one way’ restriction in High Street will be relaxed over the closed length to facilitate access.
This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 22 July 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 22 July 2025 and are programmed for completion within 11 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(HIGH STREET, MIERSCOURT ROAD AND CHAPEL ROW, RAINHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable highway improvement works to be carried out -
High Street, Mierscourt Road And Chapel Row, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic (a) In High Street, between Ivy Street and High Dewar Road, (b) in Mierscourt Road between A2 and Longford Close, and (c) for the entire length of Chapel Row. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes will be provided and signed as the works progress.
This Order will come into force on Wednesday, 23 July 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 23 July 2025 and are programmed for completion within until 31 August 2025. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(CARLTON AVENUE, LOUISVILLE AVENUE AND SCHOOL AVENUE, GILLINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic
Carlton Avenue, Louisville Avenue And School Avenue, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between (a) in Carlton Avenue and School Avenue, each from the junction with Barnsole Road for a distance of 50 metres in an easterly direction and (b) in Louisville Avenue from the junction with Barnsole Road for a distance of 50 metres in a westerly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be signed via Barnsole Road.
This Order will come into force on Monday, 21 July 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 21 July 2025 and are programmed for completion within 21 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(SEATON ROAD AND SECOND AVENUE, GILLINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable gas mains replacement works to be carried out - Seaton Road and Second Avenue, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic in both Second Avenue and Seaton Road from their junctions with Barnsole Road for a distance of 50 metres. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes will be provided and signed as appropriate. This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 12 August 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 12 August 2025 and are programmed for completion within three weeks. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed. (MARTIN ROAD, ROCHESTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable works to be carried out on the gas main.
Martin Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between junction Cliffe Road and junction Wykeham Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Martin Road, Wykeham Street, Frindsbury Road (A228), Cliffe Road in both directions. This Order will come into force on Monday, 11 August 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 11 August 2025 and are programmed for completion within 21 days.

(VARIOUS ROADS, CHATHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable the gas main to be replaced -
Magpie Hall Road and side roads off - to be closed to all vehicular traffic (a) in Magpie Hall Road between the junction with Kitchener Avenue and the junction with Castle Road; and (b) (c) and (d) in Whyman Avenue; in Kitchener Avenue and in Shipwrights Avenue, each from the junction with Magpie Hall Road for a distance of 50 metres. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes will be available and signed as the works progress.
This Order will come into force on 21 July 2025, and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after 21 July, and are programmed for completion by 1 September. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
