What is happening?

City Of Bristol

(Balmoral Road And Hurlingham Road, Montpelier, Bristol)
(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and becomes operative from 21st July 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between the dates specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice). 

Alternative Routes: See Schedule 3

Schedule 1 - Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles
1. Balmoral Road - from Cromwell Road to Hurlingham Road
2. Hurlingham Road - from Ashley Hill to Balmoral Road

Schedule 2 - Durations
1. from 18th August 2025 to 15th September 2025
2. from 21st July 2025 to 8th September 2025

Schedule 3 - Alternative Routes
1. Balmoral Road (part unaffected), Sommerville Road South, Chesterfield Road, Cromwell Road (and vice versa for pedal cycles) 
2. Pedal Cycles only: Ashley Hill, Ashley Court Road, Sommerville Road South, Balmoral Road and vice versa

(St, Lukes Road, Totterdown, Bristol) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of St. Lukes Road which extends from Hill Avenue to Mead Street.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and becomes operative from 14th July 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 14th July 2025 and 8th August 2025). 

Alternative Route: St. Lukes Road (part unaffected), St. Johns Lane, Wells Road, Bath Road, Bath Bridge Roundabout, York Road, St. Lukes Road (part unaffected) and vice versa

(Lyndale Road And Tintern Avenue, St. George, Bristol) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and becomes operative from 28th July 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 28th July 2025 and 8th August 2025).

Westbound: Chalks Road, Church Road, Roseberry Park

(Cameron Walk And Romney Avenue, Lockleaze, Bristol) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Waiting) (Cameron Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is:-

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Cameron Walk which extends from Gainsborough Square to Romney Avenue; and 
2. to prohibit, temporarily and subject to specified exemptions, any vehicle waiting in those lengths of:-

(a) Cameron Walk, north side, from 19 metres west of Romney Avenue north westwards for 42 metres; and
(b) Romney Avenue, west side, from 27 metres north of Cameron Walk northwards for 18 metres.

The Order was required because development works are being or proposed to be executed on or near the roads, along with the subsequent requirement to facilitate safe access and egress for works vehicles and becomes operative from 14th July 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place for 1 - 4 weeks within the period between 14th July 2025 and 21st August 2026).

Alternative Route: Gainsborough Square, Brangwyn Grove, Romney Avenue and vice versa

(Various Roads, Portway (A4) Area, Clifton, Hotwells, Sea Mills And Shirehampton, Bristol) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles) (Temporary 20 Mph Speed Limits) 
(Temporary Suspension Of Speed Limits) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is:-

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Cumberland Basin Road which extends from Faraday Road to Bennett Way;
2. to introduce, temporarily, a 20 mph speed limit in those lengths of:-

(a) Cumberland Basin Road, from Faraday Road to Bennett Way; 
(b) Hotwell Road, from Bennett Way and Cabot Way to Bridge Valley Road; and
(c) Portway (A4), from Portway Roundabout to Hotwell Road.

Note: existing speed limits in those lengths of roads specified in item 2. above would temporarily be superseded by the 20mph speed limit. 

The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and becomes operative from 11th July 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 11th July 2025 and 31st December 2025).

Alternative Route: Faraday Road, Bristol Gate, Hotwell Road, Merchants Road, McAdam Way, Ashton Avenue, Cumberland Road, Smeaton Road, Brunel Lock Road, Brunel Way, Plimsoll Bridge, Bristol Gate, Bennett Way
