What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 

The East Sussex (C537 Monks Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Monks Lane – from the junction with C82 Newbury Lane to the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100 Cousley Wood Road – C82 Newbury Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 and 25 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6188 Cross Lane, Ticehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Cross Lane
– from the junction with B2099 High Street to the junction with U6187 Boarders Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6187 Boarders Lane – U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane – U6189 Vineyard Lane – B2099 High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 and 25 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6189 Vineyard Lane, Ticehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Vineyard Lane – from the junction with U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane to the junction with B2099 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2099 High Street – U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 7 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7262 Church Street, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow KD Traffic Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Church Street – from the junction with B2099 High Street to Twitten Cottage.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7262 Church Street – B2099 The Square, High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 July and 8 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C81 Bells Yew Green Road, Frant) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Bells Yew Green Road – from the junction with C81 The Green to the junction with B2169 Bayham Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C81 The Green – A267 Frant Green Road, Frant Road – B2169 Bayham Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 30 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C272 Buckland Hill, Cousley Wood/U7538 Woods Green/U7887 Newbury Lane/U7538 Whitegates Lane/U7542 Tapsells Lane/B2100 The Slade/ B2099 Station Road, Wadhurst/U7571 Rotherhurst Lane, Rotherfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily bring into force the following restriction;

Temporary Road Closure Whitegates Lane – from the junction with U7538 Woods Green to the junction with C539 Turners Green.

Diversion via C539 Turners Green – U7538 Turners Green – C272 Osmers Hill – U7538 Woods Green and vice versa.

The Order commenced 13 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 18 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
