A303 TRUNK ROAD – NEAR ANDOVER

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent incursion into works being proposed to be executed by contractors working on behalf of Hampshire County Council (HCC) on their network.

The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A303 at Hundred Acre Interchange (A342/A343).

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of HCC undertake carriageway repairs.

It is expected that the work will take place in two phases of 10 days in each direction starting on or after Wednesday 16th July 2025. The overnight closure will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).

The Order will come into force on 14 July 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted either using other junctions on the A303 or using the A3057, A343, East or West Portway, B3402 or Macadam Way, Whittle Road, Reith Way, and Wiremead Lane, Amesbury Road, Weyhill Road, Red Post Lane and Monxton Road. The diversion in operation will vary according to the closure in force. Please consult National Highways or Hampshire County Council’s websites for further details.

The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
