EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL PUBLIC NOTICES

THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL (DESIGNATED DISABLED PERSONS’

PARKING PLACES AND AMENDMENTS) ORDER 2025

On 08 July 2025 the East Dunbartonshire Council made an Order under the Road

Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which Order comes into operation on 20 August 2025.

The proposed Order was advertised in the editions of the Kirkintilloch Herald, Milngavie & Bearsden Herald, and Bishopbriggs Herald published the week commencing 17 March 2025. The main effect of the Order is the introduction of designated parking places for the leaving of a vehicle displaying a disabled persons’ badge on the following roads:-

1.   Dryburgh Road, St Germains, Stockiemuir Avenue, Unnamed Lane West of Canniesburn Road, and Wheatfield Road within Bearsden;

2.   Colston Drive, Emerson Road, Fern Avenue, Fern Grove, Glendale Drive, Lennox Crescent, and Westerhill Road within Bishopbriggs;

3.   Alloway Drive, Border Way, Doon Place, Drumhill, Fossil Grove, Industry Street, Lammermoor Road, Langmuir Avenue, Mossgiel Gardens, Oxford Street, Parkview Avenue, and Westergreens Avenue within Kirkintilloch;

4.   Hillview Avenue and Main Street within Lennoxtown;

5.   Gallowhill Avenue within Lenzie;

6.   Ashburn Gardens, Cloberfield Gardens, Hillcrest Street and Sinclair Street within Milngavie;

7.   Cannerton Crescent and Glazert Place within Milton of Campsie;

8.   Davidson Crescent and Differ Avenue within Twechar.

As well as the removal of existing parking places designated for the leaving of a vehicle displaying a disabled persons’ badge, which are no longer required for use, on the following roads:-

1.   Almond Road, Maxwell Avenue and Spey Road within Bearsden;

2.   Coltpark Avenue, Dene Walk, Gannochy Drive, and Lennox Crescent within Bishopbriggs;

3.   Alloway Drive, Alloway Terrace, Armour Court, Eildon Road, St Columba Drive and Westergreens Avenue within Kirkintilloch;

4.   Glorat Avenue and Holyknowe Crescent within Lennoxtown;

5.   Blackthorn Avenue and Oak Drive, Lenzie

6.   Allander Road, Clober Road, and Craigash Quadrant within Milngavie;

7.  Derrywood Road and Scott Avenue within Milton of Campsie;

8. Differ Avenue and Davidson Crescent within Twechar.

A copy of the order as made together with plans detailing the lengths of road affected are available for inspection without payment of fee on the Traffic Regulation Orders section of the East Dunbartonshire Council website. Telephone Enquiries to: 0300-123-4510.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision therein on grounds that the Order is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any relevant Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 08 July 2025, make an application to the Court of Session for this purpose.
