What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(MORTIMER ROAD AND CAULDWELL AVENUE, SOUTH SHIELDS) ORDER 2025

On 2 July 2025 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order which comes into operation on 21 July 2025 will Introduce no entry from Mortimer Rd into Cauldwell Ave and Introduce No Waiting At Any Time and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on Mortimer Rd northeast side from a point 15m northwest of the junction radii with Cauldwell Ave in a south easterly direction for a distance of 15m and southwest side from a point 8m northwest of the junction radii with Mortimer Primary School Access Rd in a south easterly direction for 8m; Cauldwell Ave northwest side from its junction radii with Mortimer Rd in a north easterly direction for 12m and southeast side
from its junction with Mortimer Rd in a north easterly direction for 29m and on Mortimer
Primary School Access Rd southeast side from its junction radii with Mortimer Rd in a south
westerly direction for 8m and northwest side from its junction radii with Mortimer Rd in a
south westerly direction for 9m. Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Town Hall at the address below. Alternatively, you can request a copy of the documentation by emailing

kathryn.ruddy@southtyneside.gov.uk.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the
grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements
of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have not been complied with
may, within 6 weeks from 2 July 2025 when the Order was made, make an application for
that purpose to the High Court.
