Wolverhampton - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS IN RESPECT OF INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE OF
OVERHEAD CABLES)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
· Bilston Road A41 closed, inbound only, from its junction with Ettingshall Road to opposite its junction with Culwick Street. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wellington Road, Lichfield Street, Oxford Street, Oxford Street Island, Black Country Route, Birmingham New Road, Thompson Avenue, Birmingham Road, Ring Road.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 17 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00.
· Cooper Street closed at its junction with Bilston Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Sutherland Avenue, Hickman Avenue, Culwick Street. It is anticipated
that the closure will operate on 18 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00.
· Bus Lane closed on Bilston Road from opposite the junction of Culwick Street to the junction of Ettingshall Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 18 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00.
· Bilston Road closed inbound only between the junction of Steelhouse Lane to opposite the junction of Chillington Street. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wellington Road, Lichfield Street, Oxford Street, Oxford Street Island, Black Country Route, Birmingham New Road, Thompson Avenue, Birmingham Road, Ring Road.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 24 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00.
· Jenner Street closed at its junction with Bilston Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 24 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00.
· Eagle Street closed at its junction with Bilston Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Steelhouse Lane, Major Street, Dixon Street and vice versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 24 July 2025, between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on the dates detailed above, between the times stipulated.
The Order is required to facilitate the inspection and maintenance of overhead cables by Centro.
