What is happening?

BATH & NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL (25-012) (NEW SYDNEY PLACE, SYDNEY ROAD, BATHWICK) (BATH) (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) (PROHIBITION OF PARKING AND WAITING) ORDER 202- 

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Bath and North East Somerset Council proposes to make an order under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will introduce the following restrictions in New Sydney Place, Sydney Road, Bath wick, Bath; 1. Prohibit any vehicle other than an Authorized Vehicle to enter the length of the road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order; 2. Prohibit any vehicle to park and/or wait in the roads specified in Schedule 2 to this Order;

Full details of the proposals, together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the order, may be inspected at the One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath, The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and at the Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours or may be requested, free of charge, by contacting by email council_connect@bathnes.gov.uk or by calling 01225 394025. The proposals may also be viewed on the Council’s website by searching for 25-012 on the webpage: www.bathnes.gov.uk/permanent-traffic-order-notices or via the link at the top of the trial’s web page at www.bathnes.gov.uk/sydneyroadetro

Objections and representations with respect to the proposal, together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent by 5pm on 24th July 2025. 

These should be submitted using the online form available at the top of the trial’s web page. Visit www.bathnes.gov.uk/sydneyroadetro If you are unable to use the online form, objections or representations can be sent to LNs_tro@bathnes.gov.uk or to the address below, quoting reference number 25-012.

Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation, together with the name and address of the person making it, could become available for public inspection.

for a distance of 5 metres in a north easterly
direction.

From a point 5 metres north east of its junction
with Sydney Mews and Sydney Place (known
as New Sydney Place) on the southern side,
extending across the highway from south to
north for a distance of 10 metres in a north
westerly direction.
From its junction with Sydney Mews and
Sydney Place (known as New Sydney Place) on
the southern side, extending across the highway
from south to north for a distance of 30 metres
in a north westerly direction.
