Thanet, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

THANET AREA

 

Albert Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Albert Street, Ramsgate, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 22 Liverpool Lawn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albert Street, Hertford Street, Queen Street, Grundys Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chapel Place, Ramsgate, CT11 9RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Place, Ramsgate, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 35, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chapel Place, Elms Avenue, Cannon Road and High Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8FF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Ramsgate, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 52, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broad Street, Church Hill, High Street, Chatham Street, Chatham Place, A255 Boundary Road, Church Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Crow Hill, Broadstairs, CT10 1HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crow Hill, Broadstairs, on or after 30th July 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crow Hill, Lindenthorpe Road, Carlton Avenue, A255 High Street, B2052 High Street, B2052 Albion Street, B2052 Nelson Place and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Margate Soul Festival (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow Margate Soul Festival to be held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of  Various Roads, Margate. Closures are planned from 17:00 hours from 31st July, with estimated completion by 23:00 hours on 3rd August 2025.

The Parade will be closed between the junctions of Market Street and King Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Duke Street will be closed at the junction with Market Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Mansion Street will be closed at the junction with Fort Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Market Place will be closed at the junction with Love Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

King Street will be closed at the junction with Broad Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic from King Street is via the open section of King Street and Fort Road up to Broad Street and onto Love Lane. The alternative route for any through traffic from The Parade is via B2051 The Parade, Market Street and Lombard Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Minster Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8BG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Minster Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 48 to outside number 88, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Streete Court Road, Victoria Avenue, Richborough Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Royal Crescent, Margate, CT9 5BP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Royal Crescent, Margate, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the Nayland Rock Hotel, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Royal Crescent, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Mildreds Road, Minster, CT12 4BZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Mildreds Road, Minster, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Station Road to outside number 1, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Birchington (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PARKING & 20MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Birchington, on or after 2nd August 2025 until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed in 2 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - Restrictions will be imposed from 2nd August 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd August 2025, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A28 Canterbury Road, Birchington, will be closed from the junction of A28 The Square to outside King Ethelbert School, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed from the junction of A28 The Square to outside King Ethelbert School, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed from the junction of A28 The Square to outside King Ethelbert School.

A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate, will be closed from outside King Ethelbert School to outside The Hussar Pub, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed from outside King Ethelbert School to outside The Hussar Pub, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed from outside King Ethelbert School to outside The Hussar Pub.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, B2052 George V Avenue, B2052 Hartsdown Road, Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Margate Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Thanet Way, A299 St Nicholas At Wade Roundabout, A28 Canterbury Road and A28 The Square.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A28 The Square, A28 Canterbury Road, A299 St Nicholas At Wade Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A256 Canterbury Road West, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, A254 Margate Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, B2052 College Road, B2052 Hartsdown Road, B2052 George V Avenue and A28 Canterbury Road.

Phase 2 - Restrictions will be imposed from 3rd August 2025, with estimated completion by 4th August 2025, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A28 Canterbury Road, Birchington & St Nicholas At Wade, will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed the entire length, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed the entire length.

A28 The Square, Birchington will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed the entire length, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed the entire length.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, B2052 George V Avenue, B2052 Hartsdown Road, Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Margate Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Thanet Way and A299 St Nicholas At Wade Roundabout.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A299 St Nicholas At Wade Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A256 Canterbury Road West, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, A254 Margate Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, B2052 College Road, B2052 Hartsdown Road, B2052 George V Avenue and A28 Canterbury Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
