What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

MAIDSTONE AREA

 

Brunswick Street East, Maidstone, ME15 7UW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brunswick Street East, Maidstone, on or after 16th July 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Kingsley Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brunswick Street East, Melville Road, Kingsley Road and vice versa.

 

Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst, TN12 0RS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 22nd July 2025 for up to 132 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Badge House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Couchman Green Lane, Headcorn Road, Station Road, Maidstone Road and vice versa.

 

Cox Street, Detling, ME14 3HF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cox Street, Detling, on or after 30th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Challenge Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cox Street, White Hill Road, Scragged Oak Road, White Hill Road, Cox Street and vice versa.

 

Cross Keys, Bearsted, ME14 4HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new electricity service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cross Keys, Bearsted, on or after 14th July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 50. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cross Keys and vice versa.

 

Dean Street, East Farleigh, ME15 0PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dean Street, East Farleigh, on or after 3rd August 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Orchard Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street and vice versa.

 

Farleigh Bridge, East Farleigh, ME16 9NB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow level crossing maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Farleigh Bridge, East Farleigh, on or after 20th July 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, between the hours of 01:00 on 20th July 2025 to 04:00 on 21st July 2025 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Station Hill, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 College Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 The Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Farleigh Lane.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Farleigh Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, B2010 College Road, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, Station Hill.

 

Frinstead Lane, Wormshill (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Frinstead Lane, Wormshill, on or after 30th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the rear of Bedmonton Manor Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frinsted Lane, Bedmonton, The Street, Bottom Pond Road, Frinstead Lane and vice versa.

 

Greenway Court Road, Hollingbourne, ME17 1QQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Greenway Court Road, Hollingbourne, on or after 14th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Oak Meadow Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Greenway Court Road, Eyhorne Street, A20 Ashford Road, Hospital Road, Greenway Court Road and vice versa.

 

Heniker Lane, Sutton Valence (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Heniker Lane, Sutton Valence, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Boyton Court Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Heniker Lane, Boyton Court Road, East Sutton Road, Tumblers Hill, Broad Street, High Street, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 Headcorn Road, Heniker Lane and vice versa.

 

Moat Road, Headcorn, TN27 9NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water pipe works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Moat Road, Headcorn, on or after 30th July 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the entrance to Headcorn Manor. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Moat Road, Summerhill, Four Oaks Road, Plumtree Road, Four Oaks Road, New Barn Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Mill Bank, Moat Road and vice versa.

 

Norton Road, Chart Sutton, ME17 3RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Norton Road, Chart Sutton, on or after 31st July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Valetta. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Norton Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Maidstone Road, Warmlake Road, Norton Road and vice versa.

 

Pickering Street, Maidstone, ME15 9UU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fire hydrant replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pickering Street, Maidstone, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 12. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

 

Pilgrims Way, Hollingbourne, ME17 1UP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing and tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Hollingbourne, on or after 17th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Granary, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Upper Street, Eyhorne Street, A20 Ashford Road, Roundwell, Water Lane, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.

 

Pye Corner, Ulcombe, ME17 1EE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pye Corner, Ulcombe, on or after 29th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Windmill Hill, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pye Corner, Headcorn Road, Pye Corner and vice versa.

 

Water Lane, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Water Lane, Headcorn, on or after 14th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stephens Bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Moat Road, Summerhill, Four Oaks Road, Plumtree Road, Four Oaks Road, Hawkenbury Road, Headcorn Road, A229 High Street, Frittenden Road, Staplehurst Road, Headcorn Road, Water Lane and vice versa.

 

Wheelers Lane, Linton, ME17 4BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wheelers Lane, Linton, on or after 31st July 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Toke Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wheelers Lane, A229 Linton Hill, B2163 Heath Road, Vanity Lane and vice versa.

 

Willow Lane, Paddock Wood (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Willow Lane, Paddock Wood, on or after 20th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Willow Lane, Queen Street, Mile Oak Road, Pearsons Green Road, Willow Lane and vice versa.

 

Windmill Hill, Ulcombe (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Windmill Hill, Ulcombe, on or after 29th July 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Reeds, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Windmill Hill, Lenham Road, Ulcombe Hill, The Street, Pye Corner and vice versa.
