What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(LEIGHTON ROAD, EGGINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order

the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Leighton Road, Eggington outside Hockliffe Grounds farm grain store.

This temporary closure is required to enable mains connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 to 31 July 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A5, A505, A4146, A4012, Hockliffe Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 July 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Anglian Water – 0800145145.

(STANBRIDGE ROAD, GREAT BILLINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Stanbridge Road, Great Billington outside number 2 The Stables.

This temporary closure is required to enable engineers to access telegraph poles in safety and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 27 July 2025 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A505, B440 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 27 July 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Sunbelt Rentals - 03700500792.
