Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington & Cemetery Lane, Ashford. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS & BUS/TAXI/CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington & Cemetery Lane, Ashford. This order takes effect on or after 14th July 2025, with estimated completion by 10th April 2026.
14th July 2025 - 18th March 2026
The bus, cycle and taxi lane on A28 Canterbury Road will be suspended between the junction with Bybrook Road and M20 overbridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
14th July 2025 - 7th October 2025 & 21st January 2026 - 18th March 2026
Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from Cemetery Lane onto A28 Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, (Roundabout at A2070 Willesborough Road and return).
Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from A28 Canterbury Road onto Cemetery Lane.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, Simone Weil Avenue, Simone Weil Roundabout (Drovers Roundabout), Simon Weil Avenue and Canterbury Road.
14th July 2025 - 18th January 2026
Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from A28 Canterbury Road onto Kinneys Lane.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, (Roundabout at A2070 Willesborough Road and return).
Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from Kinneys Lane onto A28 Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, Simone Weil Avenue, Simone Weil Roundabout (Drovers Roundabout), Simon Weil Avenue and Canterbury Road.
Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from A28 Canterbury Road into the Holiday Inn access point.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, (Roundabout at A2070 Willesborough Road and return).
Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from the Holiday Inn access point onto A28 Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, Simone Weil Avenue, Simone Weil Roundabout (Drovers Roundabout), Simon Weil Avenue, Canterbury Road.
2nd April 2026 - 9th April 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only
A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junction with Simone Weil Avenue and Bybrook Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A2042 Canterbury Road, North Street, A292 Somerset Road, Mace Lane, Hythe Road, A2070 M20 Junction 10 Roundabout, Kennington Road, Willesborough Road, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
B2067 Ruckinge Road, Bilsington, TN25 7JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ruckinge Road, Bilsington, from 31st July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed adjacent to The Pastures, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Ruckinge Road, Bilsington Road, Hamstreet Road, Cock Lane, The Street, Ashford Road, Ashford Road Junction With Bypass Link Road To Hamstreet, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, Hamstreet Bypass, Hythe Road Roundabout, A2070 J A2042 Roundabout, Bad Munstereifel Slip East Bound On, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, Bad Munstereifel Road, A2070 From M20 J10 Roundabout To J A2042 S, Barrey Road, A2070 From A2070 Sevington Roundabout To M20 J10a Roundabout E, Link Road Between Junction 10a M20 To A2070, A20 A2070 M20 J10a Roundabout, A20 Hythe Road, Main Road, Barrow Hill, B2067 Otterpool Lane, Aldington Road, Roman Road, Knoll Hill, Bonnington Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bell Lane, Smarden. (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on part of Bell Lane, Smarden, from 15th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary 40 mph speed restriction on Bell Lane will be imposed in the vicinity of Littlegates, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Church Road, Warehorne, TN26 2LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Warehorne, from 20th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Sheperds Well Cottage and Monks Hill Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, B2067 Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, Appledore Road, School Road, B2080 Tenterden Road, The Street, Station Road, Arrowhead Lane, Snargate Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cycle Lane From Chart Road To Bridge Road, Ashford. (PROHIBITION OF CYCLING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order temporarily prohibiting cyclists from travelling on part of the Cycle Lane From Chart Road To Bridge Road, Ashford, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 8th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The cycle lane will be closed approximately 45m from Chart Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, cyclists are advised to dismount.
Cycle Track From Ford Way To Elwick Road & Jemmett Road, Ashford. (PROHIBITION OF CYCLING & PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of the Cycle Track From Ford Way To Elwick Road & Jemmett Road, Ashford, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 1st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
Cyclists will be prohibited from travelling along the cycle track from Ford Way to Elwick Road whilst the track is suspended, cyclists will be asked to dismount.
Jemmett Road will be closed in the vicinity of the cycle track to Victoria Park, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for the Jemmett Road closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Ebony Road, Stone, TN30 7JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow drainage improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ebony Road, Stone, from 1st August 2025, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Rose Hill and Acton Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Acton Lane, Pound Lane, Stocks Road and Rose Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Forstal Road, Egerton, TN27 9EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Forstal Road, Egerton, from 31st July 2025, with estimated completion by 1st August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside Tillers Rest, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crocken Hill Road, Rock Hill Road, New Road, Egerton Road, Forge Hill, Smarden Road, The Pinnock, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Shenley Road, A274 Biddenden Road, Headcorn Road, Bedlam Lane, Forstal Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Headcorn Road, Smarden. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Headcorn Road, Smarden, from 30th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The 30 mph speed restriction will be imposed in the vicinity of Munk Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Pluckley Road, Smarden, TN27 8RG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Smarden, from 29th July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st July 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from deleted meadow at Maltmans Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, The Street, Water Lane, Bell Lane, The Pinnock, Smarden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ram Lane, Little Chart, TN25 4LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow drainage investigation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ram Lane, Little Chart, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st July 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from 50m past the Mount, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ram Lane, Little Chart Road, West Street, School Road, Station Road, Cades Road, A20 Maidstone Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
River Hall Lane, Biddenden, TN27 8JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of River Hall Lane, Biddenden, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 1st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Cott Farm Barn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pook Lane, Smarden Road, Cot Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
School Hill, Warehorne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Hill, Warehorne, from 14th July 2025, with estimated completion by 15th July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Hockley, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Hill, Malthouse Lane, Woodchurch Road, Spot House Lane and School Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Snargate Road, Warehorne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Snargate Road, Warehorne, from 20th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 150m north of the entrance to Forty Acres Farm House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, B2067 Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, Appledore Road, School Road, B2080 Tenterden Road, The Street, Station Road, Arrowhead Lane, Snargate Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden, TN26 3EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1 and 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wissenden Lane, Wissenden Green and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Upper Bridge Street & Bridge Street, Wye. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow gas supply works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Upper Bridge Street & Bridge Street, Wye, from 31st July 2025, with estimated completion by 8th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Oxenturn Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via Upper Bridge Street, High Street, Church Street, Bridge Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
