Temporary Closure of Footpath - Southwell Footpaths 12, 13 and 15

What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS

 THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (SOUTHWELL FOOTPATHS 12,13 AND 15)  (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall:-

(a) proceed on foot,

in the following lengths of Footpath at Southwell in the District of Newark and Sherwood:-

Southwell Footpaths No.12, No.13 and No.15.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-

From Monday, 21st July until Friday, 14th November 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction a suggested alternative route will be available as shown on plan.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable Prelimenary Works to be carried out for the Southwell Flood Alleviation Scheme and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED

 THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 3rd DAY OF JULY 2025
