Public Footpaths Ba8/26 & Ba15/24, Wick Farm - Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
What is happening?
NOTICE OF MAKING OF ORDER SECTION 14 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS BA8/26 & BA15/24, WICK FARM, COMPTON DANDO) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order to temporarily introduce a path closure to the section of Public Footpath BA8/26 commencing from a junction with Public Footpaths BA8/77 & BA8/81 at ST64946285 and proceeding in a generally E direction for approx 770m to a junction with Public Footpath BA15/24 at ST65606276; and the section of Public Footpath BA15/24 commencing from a junction with Public Footpath BA8/26 at ST65606276 and continuing in a generally ESE direction for approx 469m to a junction with Public Footpath BA15/23 at ST66026256.
This temporary closure is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public: namely the danger caused by a broken footbridge, which requires replacement before the section of public footpath can once again be used safely. The Order will come into force on 7 July 2025 (continuing the emergency 21-day closure put in place on 16 June 2025) and will be effective for six months. (However the footpath will be re-opened sooner if the footbridge is replaced sooner).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
Public Footpath BA8/77 - Hunstrete Lane - Public Footpath BA8/76 - Public Footpath BA15/23. Vice Versa.
