High Street And Mardis Lane - Temporary Closure For Gas Mains Connection Works

Temporary Closure of High Street and Mardis Lane
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: High Street - from 161 metres north of the junction with Mill Lane, northwards for a distance of 105 metres; and Mardis Lane - from the junction with High Street, westwards for a distance of 293 metres. A total distance of 398 metres.
This Order will enable Swift Groundworks Ltd to carry out gas mains connection works.
The Order becomes effective on 17th July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 21st July 2025 and last until 28th July 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 8 days.
