Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular
access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 14th July 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried
out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cartway (lower section) Bridgnorth
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-1 joint hole in tarmac road and 2m trenching in modular footway 6m road crossing in tarmac road for new supply
Alternative Route : Friars Street, River Side
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road at Chilton Bridge, Cross Houses
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 16 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable bridge repairs
Alternative Route : B4380, A458
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Street, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 16th July 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 17th July 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace/Repair frame and cover.
Alternative Route : Lower Brook Street, Victoria Road, Salop Road, B4579, Castle Street, Willow Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cross Hill, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, gas service alternation.
Alternative Route : Swan Hill, Murivance, St Johns Hill
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Grindle Road, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 15th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, B4379, Hall Lane, Grindle Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hereford Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 15th July 2025 from 20:30 to 06:30 16th July 2025
Purpose: One Way Closure - Shannonside, Section 278 resurfacing works in connection with Bellway Homes development.
Alternative Route : B4380, A458, A5
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using London Road, Woore
Date & Duration: 20th July 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Repair/Replace defective manhole frame and covers.
Alternative Route : A51, A53, A529, A525
Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Footpath Connecting Oldbury Wells and Rose Lane, Bridgnorth
Date & Duration: 19th July 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure-Cadent Gas - New gas connection
Alternative Route : Rose Lane, B4373, Oldbury Wells
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A495, County boundary to B4396 junction, Llanyblodwel
Date & Duration: 18th July 2025 for 4 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : A495, A483, Salop Road, A490, A495
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road County boundary to Croseau Bach road, Llansillin
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West towards Llansilln, B4580, Unnamed road East
Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Lime Walk, Church Stretton
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 4 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Tree works
Alternative Route : Cardingmill Valley, footpath connecting Cardingmill Valley and Longhills Road, Longhills Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Pentregaer Isaa Junction To Croesau Bach
Date & Duration: 16th July 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North towards Rhydcroesau, B4580, Unnamed road East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Yorton Station Junction to A528 Myddle Junction, Yorton
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : A528, B5476
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between A41 and Lizard Lane Tong Norton
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace pole
Alternative Route : A41, A5, Unnamed road South West, Lizard Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between A4117 and Tenbury Road
Date & Duration: 17th July 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Boundary box install
Alternative Route : A4117, Tenbury Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Plealey and Wrentnal
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 between 09:00 to 13:00
Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, tree trimming works.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South towards Wrentnall, Unnamed road North East through Longden Common and Longden, Unnamed road West through Plealey
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Upper Farmcote and Claverley
Date & Duration: 15th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Renew poles
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South West through Farmcote, A458, Unnamed road North East to Upper Farmcote
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road at Kenwick Park
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Hydrant Rebuild chamber
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Mardy
Date & Duration: 15th July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Erecting new poles on either side of road and new conductor.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Friars Street, Bridgnorth and at the same time the One way order will be suspended to allow access
Date & Duration: 18th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure- Mobile Crane to be located in the public highway to facilate lifting of heavy plant onto elevated construction site which sits above the Public Highway.
Alternative Route : Cartway, River Side, Southwell Riverside, Friars Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Maes-y-Clawdd, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 14th July 2025 for 28 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Construction of new traffic island and other development works
Alternative Route : A483, Maesbury road, Maes-Y-Clawdd
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Bull Ring, King Street, High Street, Castle Street, Castle Square, Dinham, Broad Street and One Way system in operation (Northbound for ingress and Southbound for egress) on Linney (Rugby Club to Dinham), Dinham (Linney to Halton Lane) and Middle Wood Road, Ludlow. Castle Street Car Park will be closed to traffic at the same time. There will be a parking restriction on Mill Street between 44 and 50.
Date & Duration: 17th July 2025 for 4 days and 25th July 2025 for 3 days between Midday and Midnight
Purpose: Traffic restrictions in association with ''Within the Walls Concert''
