Castle Road - Proposed Speed Hump
What is happening?
PROPOSED SPEED HUMP, CASTLE ROAD, ST. THOMAS
1. Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council proposes to introduce road hump under the Highways Act 1980.
2. Castle Road is one of the oldest roads in Southsea, lined with one-of-a-kind shops and buildings, Castle Road is a unique heritage destination. To support the independent businesses and shops a raised carriageway is being proposed to introduce a safe and enhanced shared space with complementary greening.
3. The road hump would be in the form of a raised table across the full width of the carriageway and would be situated on Castle Road, St. Thomas as follows:

5. Persons wishing to object to these proposals must do so by sending their representations to
or by post to TRO Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref RCN01 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 25th July 2025) stating the grounds for the objection.
