What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B156 NORTHAW ROAD EAST, CUFFLEY) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Northaw Road East, Cuffley from its junction with Cattlegate Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 625m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B156 (Northaw Road West/Coopers Lane/Judges Hill/The Causeway), A1000 (Hatfield Road/Great North Road), B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway/East Ridgeway/Plough Lane) and B156 Northaw Road East.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OSBORN WAY, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of Osborn Way, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the B195 Bridge Road roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 125m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B195 (Bridge Road/The Campus roundabout), Parkway, A6129 Stanborough Road and Osborn Way.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STATION ROAD, DIGSWELL) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Digswell from its junction with Harmer Green Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 70m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road and Station Road.
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BERICOT WAY, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bericot Way, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the Moors Walk/Lords Wood roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Rivenhall End/Douglas Avenue roundabout, a distance of approximately 105m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Moors Walk, Sylvan Way and Bericot Way.
The Order is needed because sewer cleaning works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BULLENS GREEN LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Fellowes Lane north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 240m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Fellowes Lane, Tollgate Road, Roestock Lane and Bullens Green Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PARKSIDE, WELWYN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Parkside, Welwyn from its junction with the A1000 Hertford Road/Welwyn Bypass Road roundabout north westwards, south westwards and north eastwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN KIMPTON, CODICOTE AND PETERS GREEN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
that length of Kimpton Road (East), Kimpton/Kimpton Road, Codicote from its junction with B651 Ballsough Hill eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Heath Lane, a distance of approximately 3000m.
An alternative route will be via B651 (High Street/Hitchin Road/Horn Hill/High Street), Codicote Road, Whitwell Road, B656 High Street and Heath Lane.
that length of Luton Road/Kimpton Road (West), Kimpton and Kimpton Road, Peters Green from its junction with Fox Hill north westwards to its junction with The Green, a distance of approximately 3000m.
An alternative route will be via Luton Road, B652 (High Street/Kimpton Bottom/Bower Heath Lane), B653 (Lower Luton Road/Lower Harpenden Road), Chiltern Green Road and The Green.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRIDGE ROAD, WOOLMER GREEN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bridge Road, Woolmer Green from its junction with B197 London Road north westwards to its junction with Hall Lane, a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B197 London Road, Gun Road, Stockens Green, Gipsy Lane, Wych Elm Lane and Bridge Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
