What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(SHENINGTON WITH ALKERTON PARISH)
(20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that on 30 June 2025 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 7 July introduces a 20mph speed limit in Shenington with Alkerton, replacing the majority of the existing 30mph speed limit in the process, leading out to the following points:

1. Rattlecombe Road – a point 200 metres southwest of The Level,

2. The unnamed street through Alkerton – a point 60 metres west of its junction with Alkerton Hill.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Shenington with Alkerton Parish) (Speed Limit) Order 2003 is revoked/replaced. (BLOXHAM PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2025 NOTICE is given that on 30 June 2025 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 7 July introduces an additional 20mph speed limit on Bloxham Grove Road from its junction with the A361 Banbury Road, eastwards for a distance of 395 metres, replacing the 30mph speed limit.

Additionally, the small length of 30mph speed limit on Ell’s Lane is extended further north-westwards for an additional 215 metres, in place of the 60mph National speed limit. The Oxfordshire County Council (Bloxham Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 is revoked/replaced.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Banbury, Longelandes Way footpath
Date of Order: 30/6/2025
Coming into force: 7/7/2025

This Order is being introduced because of new electrical service connection to provide electric car chargers, which is anticipated to be completed on 18/7/2025.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of the footway off Longelandes Way, between Ruscote Arcade and Evenlode Road. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath.  The diversion will be signed via the adjacent footway. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T15854/RMF)

Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 21 July 2025
Coming into force: 29 July 2025

This Order is being introduced because of excavations to lay fibre cable ducting and clear potential blockages which are anticipated to be completed 4 August 2025. This will operate between 08:00 and 17:00hrs.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Falkners Close from No. 1 to No.5. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: 15917/AC)

Banbury, Footpath between Nos.130-132 Bretch Hill
Date of Order: 21 July 2025
Coming into force: 28 July 2025

This Order is being introduced because of high voltage cable reinforcement works which are anticipated to be completed on 8 August 2025. This is a 24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of footpath between Nos.130 and 132 Bretch Hill. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath.

The alternative route will be signed via Conway. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T15697/AC)
