PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC
TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
EXTENSION NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the above named Order made by
City of Doncaster Council on the 9th day of January 2025
which came into force on the 11th day of January 2025 has
been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of
State for Transport under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 up to and including the
10th day of November 2025. The Order would otherwise have
expired on the 10th day of July 2025.
The Order was made to ensure the safety of the public due to
structural damage caused by fire.

December 2024 persons unknown set fire to the bridge,
making it dangerous for the public to use. Funding has been
secured, the work designed and approved and is now out to
Tender. It is hoped the contractor will be on site by the end of
July and work completed within the 3 month extension
requested to allow the bridge to be reopened to the public.
NOTICE is also given that there is no alternative route for all
traffic affected by the Order.
The order will continue in force up to and including the 10th
day of November 2025 or until the works which it is proposed
to carry out in the said public footpath have been completed,
whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within
the time stated, the Order may be further extended with the
approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. (PO674)
