What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
WEST GREEN AND RAILWAY STREET,
POCKLINGTON AND HODSOW LANE,
BARMBY MOOR

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on
foot/whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback
along the entire lengths of West Green and Railway
Street, Pocklington and Hodsow Lane, Barmby Moor
commencing 22 July 2025 until 29 August 2025.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
West Green and Railway Street, Pocklington and
Hodsow Lane, Barmby Moor highway and footway
works including resurfacng the existing carriageway
and replacement of damaged kerbs and ironwork, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within 39 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via B1247 Station Road, B1247 The Balk Roundabout,
B1247 The Balk, B1247 White Mill Roundabout and
A1079 York Road, Allerthorpe CP, Barmby Moor CP,
Pocklington CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds
Weighton Ward. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but access will be maintained for residents,
emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 22 July 2025 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or
until the works which it is proposed to carry out have
been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further
