TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

GORLESTON-ON-SEA – South Road from 50m east of its junction with Bells Road for 40m eastwards to facilitate new water connection works from 8th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Bells Road, Upper Cliff Road, Drudge Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Essex and Suffolk Water.

GORLESTON-ON-SEA

  1. Church Lane from its junction with Spencer Avenue for 250m eastwards and

  2. Middleton Road from its junction with B1370 Middleton Road roundabout for 80m southwards to facilitate installation of crossings and surfacing works. Traffic over the Road 1) and the Road 2) shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 7th July to 2nd November 2025 (may continue until 6th January 2026). HIGH KELLING – A148 Cromer Road from its junction with C488 Cromer Road to its junction with Manor House Road to facilitate stud replacement and lining works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 10th to 14th July 2025 (may continue until 25th August 2025). HORSTEAD WITH STANNINGHALL – U51420 Rectory Road from its junction with B1354 Rectory Road for 10m north eastwards to facilitate stop tap replacement works from 7th to 9th July 2025 (may continue until 20th August 2025). Alternative route is via: B1354 Rectory Road, Rectory Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

LINGWOOD AND BURLINGHAM – Buckenham Road from its junction with Buckenham Lane for 100m eastwards to facilitate new water connection works from 10th to 14th July 2025 (may continue until 25th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Buckenham Road, Norwich Road, Long Lane, Stone Road, Low Road, Wood Lane, Hassingham Road (Strumpshaw, Lingwood and Burlingham). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

RACKHEATH – C283 Salhouse Road/Norwich Road from 200m northeast of its junction with U51493 Eva Road for 55m north-eastwards to facilitate lining works at railway level crossing between 22:00 and 06:30 from 5th to 6th July 2025 (may continue until the 17th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Salhouse Road, A1270 Broadland Northway, Thorpe End Drive, Reeves Corner, Norwich Road, Honeycombe Road (Rackheath, Great and Little Plumstead). The works promoter is Network Rail.

ROLLESBY & MARTHAM – C457 Martham Road/Rollesby Road from 400m northeast of its junction with A149 Main Road for 1200m northwards to facilitate access to chambers for spine cabling works from 9th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Martham Road, A149 Main Road, Repps Road, Rollesby Road (Repps with Bastwick, Rollesby, Martham). The works promoter is Openreach.

TAVERHAM – A1067 Fakenham Road from its junction with C262 Beech Avenue to its junction with U51202 Windsor Chase to facilitate main dressing works between 07:00 and 15:00 from 6th to 13th July 2025 only whilst signs indicate closure are in place (may continue until 24th August 2025). Alternative route is via: A1067 Fakenham Road, A1270 Broadland Northway, A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road/Boundary Road, A1067 Drayton High Road/Fakenham Road (Hellesdon, Horsford, Drayton, Horsham St. Faith and Newton St. Faith, Taverham, Attlebridge). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB – These dates are anticipated to be the only on the 6th July, 13th July will be used if the 6th July does not go ahead.

TAVERHAM – U57472 Lacey Road from its junction with Baldric Road to its junction with St Walstans Road to facilitate patching works from 7th to 9th July 2025 (may continue until 19th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Baldric Road, Saint Walstans Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

WALCOTT – U19003 Ostend Road from 70m north of its junction with Happisburgh FP6 for 480m north westwards to facilitate electrical works from 7th to 15th July 2025 (may continue until 26th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Ostend Road, North Walsham Road, B1159 Coast Road. The works promoter is Eclipse Power Networks.

ALBURGH – C357 Mill Road from 60m east of its junction with U76183 Burntoak Lane for 306m north-eastwards to facilitate tree cutting works from 7th to 9th July 2025 (may continue until 20th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Broad Road, Room Lane, The Common, Harris Green, Starston Road, Hardwick Road (Shelton and Hardwick, Starston, Hempnall, Alburgh). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: Access to Clintreagate Road will be maintained up to the point of closure.

CRANWORTH – C159 Woodrising Road from its junction with C131 Woodrising Road for 1128m south-eastwards to facilitate carriageway repair works from 7th to 9th July 2025 (may continue until 20th August 2025). Alternative route is via: C131 Woodrising Road, B1108 Norwich Road/Watton Road, C159 Woodrising Road (Hingham, Scoulton, Cranworth). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

CRINGLEFORD – A11 Newmarket Road from its junction with A11 Thickthorn Roundabout for 2100m eastwards to facilitate roundabout resurfacing works between 20:00 and 06:00 from 7th to 21st July 2025 (may continue until 1st September 2025). Alternative route is via: Newmarket Road, Daniels Road, Lakenham Road, Hall Road, Barrett Road, Martineau Lane, Loddon Road, A47 (Cringleford, Hethersett, Trowse with Newton, Kirby Bedon, Keswick and Intwood, Postwick with Witton, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley, Ketteringham). The works promoter is Breheny Civil Engineering.

NB: Please note that the closure will only be in force from Monday to Friday.

LYNG – C198 Heath Road from 33m southwest of its junction with 3F366 Pightle Way to Heath Road for 90m south westwards to facilitate overhead power line works between 08:00 and 18:00 on 10th July 2025 (may continue until 21st August 2025). Alternative route is via: C198 Heath Road/The Common/The Street/Lyng Road, A1067 Main Road/Fakenham Road, C212 Elsing Lane/Mill Street/Rectory Road and vice versa (Bawdeswell, Sparham, Bylaugh, Lyng, Elsing). LODDON – C203 George Lane from its junction with C554 Bridge Street for 50m westwards to facilitate meter exchange works between 20:00 and 07:00 from 10th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until the 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: George Lane, A146 Loddon Bypass, Norwich Road Bridge Street. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

NORTH ELMHAM – C220 Eastgate Street from 155m north of its junction with B1145 Back Lane for 25m westwards to facilitate new connection works from 7th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: B1145 Back Lane, B1110 Dereham Road/Holt Road, C220 Eastgate Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

PORINGLAND – U71001 St Marys Road from its junction with Fitzgerald Road for 50m southwards to facilitate works to clear blockage from 7th to 9th July 2025 (may continue until 20th August 2025). Alternative route is via: St Marys Road, All Saints Road, St Annes Road, Long Road, Hall Road, Upgate, Rectory Lane (Poringland, Framingham Earl). The works promoter is BT.

PULHAM ST MARY – C356 Station Road from 200m north of its junction with C356 Pulham Road for 100m northwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 8th July 2025 (may continue until 19th August 2025). SWAINSTHORPE – C179 Swainsthorpe Road/Church Road from its junction with U78025 Swardeston Lane for 40m eastwards to facilitate a new site entrance works from 7th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 29th August 2025). THARSTON AND HAPTON – U76029 The Street from its junction with U76028 Parkers Lane for 100m westwards to facilitate repairs to passing places between 09:30 and 15:00 from 10th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). WEASENHAM – C72 Massingham Road from 40m west of its junction with C101 Harpley Road for 100m westwards to facilitate pole works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: C72 Massingham Road/Weasenham Road, C66 Castle Acre Road, B1145 Litcham Road/Lynn Road, A1065 Castleacre Road and vice versa (Great Massingham, Weasenham All Saints, Rougham, Weasenham St.Peter). WYMONDHAM – B1135 Crownthorpe Road from its junction with C166 Wymondham Road for 3100m northwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 7th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Wymondham Road, Crownthorpe Road, Station Road, Hingham Road, Low Road, Hackford Road (Wymondham, Deopham, Kimberley and Carleton Forehoe, Wicklewood). GAYTON – Winch Road from 65m north of its junction with Back Street for 65m northwards to facilitate flood mitigation installations works from 7th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). GREAT MASSINGHAM – C72 Lynn Lane from 450m southwest of its junction with C66 Castleacre Road for 100m south-westwards to facilitate works to erect village gateway signs between 09:30 and 15:00 on 7th and 8th July 2025 (may continue until 11th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Lynn Lane, Massingham Road, Bell Road, Gayton Road, Grimston Road, Lynn Road, Litcham Road, Castle Acre Road (Great Massingham, Gayton, Little Massingham, Grimston). GRIMSTON – U22118 Watery Lane from its junction with Candlestick Lane for 715 metres westwards. The Order is made owing to public safety concerns and aims to protect the Road from further damage and erosion. The Order continues the provisions of the Notice dated 18th June 2025. The Road will be temporarily closed to Traffic (constituting any class of vehicle and including pedestrians) from 6th July 2025 to 8th November 2026 (previously 17th June to 5th July 2025). Alternative route is via: Watery Lane, Fen Lane, Ashwicken Road, Chapel Road, Vong Lane, B1153 Gayton Road. The promoter is Norfolk County Council.

KING’S LYNN

  1. A148 Nar Ouse Way from its junction with C8 Saddlebow Roundabout for 1300m north-eastwards and

  2. C644 Morston Drift from its junction with A148 Nar Ouse Way for 480m northwards to facilitate resurfacing works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 10th to 11th July 2025, and then between 19:00 and 05:00 from 14th to 18th July 2025 (may continue until 1st February 2026).

    Alternative route is via: Nar Ouse Way, Saddlebow Road, A47, A148, A10/A149, Hardwick Road, (North Runcton, King’s Lynn). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

ROYDON – Station Road C56/60 from 10m south of its junction with Stoney Road for 40m southwards to facilitate new water connection works from 9th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until the 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, Hillington Road A148, Station Road (Roydon, Congham, Castle Rising). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

WIGGENHALL ST. GERMANS – Lynn Road from its junction with School Road for 150m eastwards to facilitate bridge maintenance works from 7th to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, High Road, Low Road, School Road, Sluice Road, The Avenue, Islington Road, A47 at Tilney All Saints, Pullover Road/ Saddlebow Road, High Road Roundabout (Tilney All Saints, Wiggenhall St. Germans, Tilney St. Lawrence). AYLSHAM

  1. Holman Road from its junction with Sandy Lane for 90m eastwards and

  2. Sandy Lane from its junction with Holman Road for 50m northwards to facilitate gas main replacement works from 30th June to 11th July 2025 (may continue until 22nd August 2025).

Alternative route is via: Bramerton Lane, A146 Loddon Road. The works promoter is BT.

      CAISTOR ST EDMUND AND BIXLEY – C190 White Horse Lane from 363m north-east of its junction with C201 Stoke Road for 170m north-eastwards to facilitate unloading of temporary road/track way matting units between 9:30 and 15:30 from 3rd to 16th July 2025 (may continue until 27th August 2025).

      Alternative route is via: White Horse Lane, Stoke Road, Mansfield Lane A146 Barrett Road, A146 Martineau Lane, Braconadle, The Street, White Horse Lane (Trowse with Newton, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley). The works promoter is National Grid Company.

      CRANWORTH – U35179 River Lane from 375m south of its junction with C161 Church Lane for 25m southwards to facilitate brickwork repairs and fencing replacement works from 30th June to 1st July 2025 (may continue until the 12th August 2025).

      LITTLE ELLINGHAM – U33141 Scoulton Road from its junction with C130 Golden Corner for 1854m eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works from 1st to 4th July 2025 (may continue until 15th August 2025).

      Alternative route is via: C130 Golden Corner/Scoulton Road/Bell Lane, B1077 Brayes Lane/Attleborough Road, U33041 Thieves Lane/Rockland Lane and vice versa (Scoulton, Rocklands, Little Ellingham).

      LONG STRATTON – A140 Norwich Road from its junction with B1527 Hempnall Road to its junction with U71007 St Michaels Road to facilitate construction works as part of the Long Stratton Bypass Scheme between 20:00 and 06:00 from 3rd to 4th July, 20:00 and 06:00 from 10th to 11th July 2025 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until the 22nd August 2025).

        RAVENINGHAM – B1136 Yarmouth Road from its junction with U76307 The Craft to its junction with U76359 Mill Road to facilitate surface dressing works from 3rd to 25th July 2025 (may continue until 25th January 2026).

        Alternative route is via: B1336 Yarmouth Road, A146 Beccles Road, A146 Norwich Road, A143 Norwich Road A143 Yarmouth Road A143 Beccles Road, A143 Yarmouth Road A143 Beccles Road, A143 Church Hill, B1336 Loddon Road (Stockton, Haddiscoe, Hales, Heckingham, Gillingham, Toft Monks, Raveningham).         NB: These works are to be carried out in 3 phases. Phase 1 will be between 19:00 on 3rd July and 05:00 on 4th July. Phase 2 will be between 04:00 and 16:00 on 13th July. Phase 3 will be between 19:00 on 24th July and 05:00 on 25th July.

        TIVETSHALL ST MARGARET & TIVETSHALL ST MARY – B1134 Long Row from its junction with C343 Plantation Road for 6600m eastwards to facilitate surface dressing and preparation work from 1st to 28th July 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).

        NB: These works are being carried out in 3 phases. Phase 1 is between 19:00 and 05:00 from 1st to 3rd July. Phase 2 is between 04:00 and 16:00 from 12th to 14th July. Phase 3 is between 19:00 and 05:00 from 26th to 28th July.

        WOODTON – C370 The Street from 50m southwest of its junction with the B1332 for 80m southwards to facilitate works for a new connection from 30th June to 4th July 2025 (may continue until 15th August 2025).

        Alternative route is via: The Street, Hempnall Road, B1332 Norwich Road. The works promoter is UK Power Network.

        WYMONDHAM – C594 Station Road from its junction with U71228 Valley Side for 150m southwards to facilitate train station subway work from 30th June to 20th July 2025 (may continue until 31st August 2025).

        Alternative route is via: Valley Side, Station Road, Silfield Road, Wymondham Road, The Street, Norwich Road, Stanfield Road, Browick Road, Ayton Road (Wreningham, Wymondham, Bracon Ash, Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Spooner Row). The works promoter is Dyer & Butler Ltd.
