What is happening?

WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14.1b

(VARIOUS ROADS, ABTHORPE, SILVERSTONE & WHITTLEBURY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC, TEMPORARY

ONE-WAY SYSTEMS, TEMPORARY CONTRAFLOW, TEMPORARY NO

WAITING, LOADING OR UNLOADING AT ANY TIME, & TEMPORARY

WAITING RESTRICTED TO 30 MINUTES) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit traffic from proceeding, introduce a temporary one-way system, a temporary contraflow, a temporary no  waiting, loading or unloading at any time and a temporary waiting restricted to 30 minutes along those lengths of the various roads in Abthorpe, Silverstone and Whittlebury as specified in the Schedule below. REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for safety during the British Grand Prix weekend.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The proposed Order will come into effect on 4th July 2025 and will continue in force for a period of three days. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for the Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such an extent as is indicated by the display of signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

EXPECTED DURATION: It is expected that the roads will be restricted for 3 days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: as specified in the Schedule below.
