LANSDOWNE ROAD, WALPOLE ROAD & WELLESLEY ROAD, CROYDON
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate highway regeneration works, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Lansdowne Road, Walpole Road and Wellesley Road, Croydon.
During the said works, road closures and restrictions will apply as shown in the Schedules to this notice, with diversion routes for traffic as detailed in those Schedules.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
The Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as shown in the Schedules to this notice. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.

INTRODUCTION OF ONE-WAY WORKING
LANSDOWNE ROAD, CROYDON
The Croydon (Traffic Movement) (No. F11) Order 20–
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.
The general effect of the Order would be:
a) To amend the existing one-way working arrangements in Lansdowne Road (currently one-way eastbound between Walpole Road and Dingwall Road), to introduce one-way working, eastbound, between its junctions with Wellesley Road and Walpole Road. This will make the entire section of Lansdowne Road between Wellesley Road and Dingwall Road one-way eastbound.
b) To update the map-based tiles to the Schedules attached to the above Order to accurately represent the new arrangements as they exist on site.
A copy of the proposed Order and all related documents can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made, or the Council decides not to make the Order, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk
Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section or email the Parking Design Team (addresses above), quoting the reference PD/CH/F11 by 16 July 2025.
The Order is intended to introduce one-way working in part of Lansdowne Road. The measure is intended to allow the southern footway to be widened to accommodate a new toucan crossing on Wellesley Road.

PROPOSED TOUCAN PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
WELLESLEY ROAD, CROYDON
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to introduce a new staggered toucan crossing, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
The general effect of the crossing will be to improve road safety by aiding pedestrians and cyclists to cross safely.

Proposed Staggered Toucan Crossing
The crossing will be in two 8-metre-wide staggered sections positioned either side of the central reservation of Wellesley Road as follows:
On the south-west side of Wellesley Road, 51 metres north-west of the vehicular exit of Advance House, No. 15 Wellesley Road.
On the north-east side of Wellesley Road, 2.5 metres north-west of the north-western flank wall of the Leonardo Hotel, Wellesley Road.
