Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
A20 Ashford Road, Sellindge (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 Ashford Road, Sellindge, on or after 21st July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed from the junction of Otterpool Lane for approximately 300m in an Easterly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Ashley Avenue & Shaftesbury Avenue, Folkestone, CT19 4PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic in 2 phases on part of Ashley Avenue & Shaftesbury Avenue, Folkestone, on or after 23rd July 2025 until the works have been completed.
Phase 1 - Works will be carried out from 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 9th August 2025, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Ashley Avenue will be closed from outside number 91 to the junction of Postling Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tile Kiln Lane, Surrenden Road, B2046 Cheriton Road, B2046 Cheriton High Street, Ashley Avenue and vice versa.
Shaftesbury Avenue will be closed at the junction with Ashley Avenue.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shaftesbury Avenue, Somerset Road, B2046 Cheriton High Street, Ashley Avenue and vice versa.
Phase 2 - Works will be carried out from 4th August 2025, with estimated completion by 24th August 2025, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Ashley Avenue will be closed at the junction of B2046 Cheriton High Street.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2046 Cheriton High Street, Somerset Road, Shaftesbury Road, Ashley Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Blackhouse Hill, Hythe, CT21 5UY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Blackhouse Hill, Hythe, on or after 23rd July 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of Bassett Gardens, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Blackhouse Hill, Station Road, A259 Prospect Road, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Sandling Road, A20 Ashford Road and Bargrove.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Bargrove, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Sandling Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, A261 Hythe Road, A261 London Road, A259 Military Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Prospect Road, Station Road and Blackhouse Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Burmarsh Road, Hythe, CT21 6QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Burmarsh Road, Hythe, on or after 7th July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 12 to the junction of Peregrine Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burmarsh Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, Botolphs Bridge Road, Lower Wall Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Canterbury Road, Lyminge (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Lyminge, on or after 24th July 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed between the junctions of Longage Hill and Western Court Lodge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Hayton Road, Sellindge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hayton Road, Sellindge, on or after 25th July 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside Hayton Manor to outside the entrance of The Homestead, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hayton Road, Blind House Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Stone Street, Kennett Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch, on or after 22nd July 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Vincent Cottage to outside Honeywood Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Honey Wood Lane, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Hony Wood Lane, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary, Frogmore Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Madeira Road, Littlestone, TN28 8QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Madeira Road, Littlestone, on or after 9th July 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of B2071 Littlestone Road and St Nicholas Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Madeira Road, St Andrews Road, B2071 Littlestone Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sandling Road, Postling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Postling, on or after 21st July 2025 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Cuckoo Lane for approximately 45m in a Southerly direction, between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandling Road, Canterbury Road, Beachborough, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Southenay Lane, Sellindge, TN25 6AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Southenay Lane, Sellindge, on or after 25th July 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside Southenay House to outside Crest View, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Southenay Lane, Broad Street, Blind House Lane, Swan Lane, A20 Main Road, Stone Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Split Lane, Stelling Minnis (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Split Lane, Stelling Minnis, on or after 21st July 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Bossingham Lane for approximately 50m past Split Lane Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
