Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Park Road, Wigan”(Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 30th July 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Park Road, Wigan commencing on 30th July 2025 between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Gidlow Lane, Buckley Street, Walkden Avenue, Kenyon Road, Bridgeman Terrace, New Market Street and Parsons Walk The Order is necessary to allow replacement of frame and cover.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Winstanley Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 13th August 2025. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Winstanley Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 13th August 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Billinge Road, Newton Road, Main Street, Wigan Road and Ashton Road.
The Order is necessary to allow a telegraph pole replacement.

Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Soughers Lane, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 18th August 2025. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Soughers Lane, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 18th August 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Dryden Avenue and Chimes Road The Order is necessary to allow a Telegraph Pole Replacement

Notice to Unknown Owner(s)
Intention to Request Wigan Borough Council Apply Section
228 of The Highways Act 1980, in Relation to Part of Quakers Place, Standish, Following the Carrying out of Street Works
Wigan Borough Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends to carry out street works on Quakers Place, Standish.
Part of Quakers Place is not registered with the Land Registry and enquiries have been made by us, however we have been unable to ascertain the true legal owner(s) of that part of street.
It is the Council’s intention to exercise its statutory notice procedure under Section 228 of the Highways Act 1980 with a view to adopting such part of the street as is not currently adopted, so that part of Quakers Place will become a highway maintainable at the public expense.
Any person who believes he/she/they are the true owner(s) or has/have any information on the ownership of the Section 228 Land should contact Simeon Jordan in writing (Telephone: 07876 790753) quoting reference SJ/1904192, no later than 28th July. A copy of the notice and plans may be inspected at Wigan Town Hall during normal office hours 9am to 5pm (excluding Saturday and Sundays).
