What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(A184 WHITEMARE POOL SLIP ROADS)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along

1. The A184 Whitemare Pool Interchange Eastbound offslip - from the bifurcation with the A184 Whitemare Pool over bridge extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 231 metres, and

2. The A184 Whitemare Pool Interchange Westbound onslip - from the junction with the A194 Whitemere Pool roundabout extending in a westerly direction for a distance of 210 metres

The Order is required to facilitate resurfacing works to the Whitemare Pool roundabout and the A194. The Order will come into force on 14 July 2025 at 20.00 hours.

The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 01 August 2025. The prohibitions shall be in place between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 on each operative day.

During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
