Dorset - Temporary Road Closures due to Gas Main Replacement Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Blandford Forum

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Blandford Forum as listed:

[i] Bayfran Way as indicated by signage on site;

[ii] St Leonards Avenue as indicated by signage on site.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 23rd July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29th August 2025.

This Order will enable SGN, safe access to carry out gas main replacement works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Ferndown

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Ferndown as listed:

[i] Beaufoys Avenue between Beaufoys Wood Road and Robinsons Drive;

[ii] Willow Way between Larch Way and Beaufoys Avenue.

It will come into operation on 7th July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21st July 2025.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Church Road, Ferndown

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 21st July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8th August 2025.

This Order will enable SGN, safe access to carry out gas main replacement works.

The effect of this order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary southbound road closure on Church Road, Ferndown from its junction with Wimborne Road East to opposite 121 Church Road as indicated by signs on site.

[ii] To impose temporary no right turn from Caister Close, Ferndown onto Church Road, Ferndown as indicated by signs on site.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
