Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?

(North End Road, Gestingthorpe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of North End Road, Gestingthorpe in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 280m south east of its junction with Yeldham Road for a distance of approximately 325m in a south easterly then north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th July 2025 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PT14862778220332024 – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via North End Road, Hall Green, North End Road, School Road, Little Yeldham Road, Leather Lane, Bridge Street, A1017, A1124, A131, Deans Hall Road, Oak Road, Gestingthorpe Road, Little Maplestead Road, Hedingham Road, Mustow Street, Audley End, Church Street, North End Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 3rd July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nunney Street, Castle Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nunney Street, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 410m north east of the junction with Church Street for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd July 2025 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30072004573 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via St James Street, Queen Street, Station Road, Yeldham Road, Crockleford Hill and vice versa (access only to Nunney Street, Pye Corner and Bayley Street).
The Order will come into effect on 3rd July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
