Warrington, Multiple Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

WARRINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Atley Rd, Grappenhall (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Atley Rd from its jct. with Buryfold Lane to its jct. with the boundary with Cheshire West & Chester. The Order will be effective from 21st July 2025. The closure is for a period of 5 days. The alternative route will be via Stretton Rd, Tarporley Rd, Northwich Rd, Knutsford Rd, Bridge Foot, Wilderspool Causeway, and Ackers Rd. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out a customer connection.

Skyline Dr, Burtonwood (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Skyline Dr from its jct. with Burtonwood Rd to its jct. with Fairchild Rd. The Order will be effective from 21st July 2025. The closure is for a period of 4 days, between 7 pm & 7 am. The alternative route will be via Burtonwood Rd, Alder Ln, Delph Ln, Chapel Ln, Phipps Ln, Skyline Dr & vice versa. The closure is required to allow for the installation of an art sculpture.

Fairbrother Cres (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Fairbrother Cres from its jct. with Whitchurch St to its jct. with Whittaker Ave. The Order will be effective from 30th June 2025. The closure is for a period of 3 days. The alternative route will be via Whitley Ave, Fairbrother Cres & vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to install a new water connection.

Farrell St & Adjacent Sts (Prohibition of Driving, Clearway & Suspension.) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is as follows: Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Farrell St from its jct. with Church St to its jct. with Howley Ln; Ellesmere St from its n/w jct. with Farrell St for 25m; Egerton St from its jct. with Farrell St for 25m S. Suspension of Driving & Clearway: Egerton St from its s/e jct. with Farrell St for 25m; Slutchers Ln from its s/e jct. with Farrell St for 25m. Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Various Streets – Closure of Roads & Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025. The Order will be effective from 30th June 2025. The closure is for a period of 6 days, between 7 pm & 1 am. The alternative route will be via Southern St, Meschines St, Kingsway Blvd & vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.

Various Roads in Grappenhall (Prohibition of Driving & Clearway) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is to introduce the following: Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of Longbarn Close; Gregs Close; Nicholson St; Barham Ave; Victoria Ave. Part-lengths of adjacent side roads from a point 130m north of the Bridge Ln jct. in a northern direction for 120m; Barham Close from its jct. with Victoria Ave to the turning head; Gregs Close from the jct. and the turning head from Nos. 18 to 8; Nicholson St from the jct. with Park Rd and the turning head near No. 180. The Order will be effective from 30th June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. Access to properties will be under the control of the relevant contractor. The alternative route will be via Park Rd, Hood Ln North, Hood Ln North B’carriage, B’carriage from 4 Grgs close via Nicholson Rd, Longbarn Ln, Lythgoes Ln, A57 Manchester Rd, B’carriage 4 Drgby Ave jct., Lythgoes Ln S’carriage, Nicholson Rd B’carriage from 2 Nicholson Rd to the turning head near to 15, Latchford East, Park Rd, Sycamore Ln & vice versa. The restrictions are required for a programme of improvement works.

The necessary restrictions are to be introduced on a phased basis and each closure will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
