(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2025

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as specified in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 10th day of July 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are to be phased, as signed on site, and expected to commence on the 14th day of July 2025 until the 8th day of August 2025 (restrictions in force 24 hours a day), to enable I-Civils Ltd to carry out resurfacing of carriageway and footpaths, weed killing, over foliage trimming and white lining works. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles.

A3259 Yallands Hill, Taunton - from a point 400 metres north from the junction with the A3259 Western Relief Road for a distance of 123 metres

A3259 Monkton Heathfield Road, Taunton - from its junction with the A3259 Yallands Hill to its junction with Halletts Road

Bawler Road, Taunton - from its junction with the A3259 Monkton Heathfield Road for a distance of 113 metres

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road;

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
