Delph Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DELPH LANE, BARNACRE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Delph Lane, Barnacre from its junction with Hazelhead Lane to outside Forge Bridge.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Saturday 5th July 2025 until 1700 hours on Sunday 6th July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services access will have to follow the diversion. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. From the north of the closure
Hazelhead Lane – Gubberford Lane – Lancaster New Road – Lancaster Road – High Street – Bridge Street – Bonds Lane – Garstang Road – New Lane – Lodge Road – Smithy Lane - Sandholme Lane – Turners Lane – Barnacre Lodge Drive
ii. From the east of the closure
Banacre Lodge Drive - Turners Lane - Sandholme Lane – Smithy Lane – Lodge Road – New Lane – Garstang Road – Bonds Lane – Park Hill Road – Croston Road – High Street – Lancaster Road – Lancaster New Road – Gubberford Road – Hazlehead Lane
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow a new water connection works to be carried out.
