THE MIDLOTHIAN  COUNCIL (URBAN 20 MPH SPEED LIMITS)

ORDER 2025                                                                                                             -  TO/R5.3.123

The Council, having considered Objections received, Made the above Order on 23 June 2025 as advertised on 6 February 2025.  The Order,  which applies 20 mph speed limits on roads in Midlothian towns to which that limit does not already apply, takes effect on 7 July 2025. Details may be examined until 4 August 2025 at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk, at Libraries or from david. chambers@midlothian.gov.uk.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of this Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of such Act or of any relevant regulation has not been complied with, may within six weeks from 23 June 2025 apply for this purpose to the Court of Session.

THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING ETC) (VARIATION

NO _) ORDER 202_                                                                                                 -  TO/R5.3.146

The Council proposes to provide two new ‘Disabled’ parking bays on Cuiken Terrace, Penicuik, close to Cuiken Primary School. Details may be examined from 26 June to 18 July 2025 at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk, at Libraries or from campbell.orr@midlothian.gov.uk.

THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING ETC) (VARIATION

The Council proposes to make an Order to apply double yellow line waiting restrictions at side road junctions on Clerk Road, Penicuik. Details may be examined from 26 June to 18 July 2025 at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk, at Libraries or from gillian.bathgate@midlothian.gov.uk.

THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (WESTBOUND LANE ABBEY ROAD, ESKBANK, DALKEITH) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 -

                                                                                                                                   TTRO/R5.4.278

Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate the storage of material in connection with wall repairs and to provide a safe working zone, the westbound lane on Abbey Road, Eskbank, Dalkeith, from its junction with St Davids Avenue to the junction with B703 Newbattle Road, will be closed. The eastbound lane will be used as a one-way system for westbound traffic only.

The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 7 July 2025. Works are expected to take about 5 weeks to complete. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic will be clearly sign posted.

THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (ABBEY ROAD, ESKBANK, DALKEITH) (TEMPORARY PARKING SUSPENSION WITH WAITING, LOADING AND

UNLOADING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025                                                   -  TTRO/R 5.4.279

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Midlothian Council has made a temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, prohibiting parking, waiting, loading and unloading at Abbey Road, Eskbank, Dalkeith (both kerblines) from its junction with B703 Newbattle Road to its junction with St Davids Avenue for a distance of 180m or thereby. The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 7th July 2025. The works are expected to take 5 weeks to complete. The suspension and restrictions are necessary to facilitate repair of the wall which runs adjacent to Abbey Road and to facilitate a compound and laydown area for materials.
