What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Blackmore Road, Blackmore) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Blackmore Road, Blackmore in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Hook End Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st July 2025 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410263574 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while repair & replace hydrant works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Blackmore Road, Nine Ashes Road, Ongar Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 2nd July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Green Road, Fryerning) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Mill Green Road, Fryerning in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Beggar Hill for a distance of approximately 505m in a north easterly then north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Borough of Brentwood) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2375697 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Blackmore Road, Chelmsford Road, Ingatestone Road, Blackmore Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 2nd July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Western Avenue, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (North Road, Brentwood) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Western Avenue, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Ongar Road to its junction with North Road a distance of approximately 290m.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction to all traffic on North Road, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Western Avenue in an easterly direction to its junction with Wellesley Road as cited in ‘The Essex County Council (North Road, Brentwood) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) Order 2008’.
The closure/suspension is scheduled to commence on 21st July 2025 for 52 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001345212 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Ongar Road, North Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 2nd July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Childerditch Lane, West Horndon CP) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Childerditch Lane, West Horndon in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 135m north of its junction with St Mary’s Lane for a distance of approximately 25m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th July 2025 for 1 night (22:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701FSS2-18-56-070725 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while retaining wall inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
Alternative routes are available via
1. A127, Slip from A127 to B186 Westbound, B186, St Mary’s Lane (with access only into Childerditch Lane).
2. St Mary’s Lane, Station Road, A128, Westbound Slip from A128 to A127, A127 (with access only into Childerditch Lane).
The Order came into effect on 18th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Goatswood Lane, Navestock) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Goatswood Lane, Navestock in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Horseman Side for a distance of approximately 115m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th July 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG7C2V7XPTSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Goatswood Lane, Church Road, Chequers Road, Coxtie Green Road, Dytchleys Lane, Dytchleys Road, Horseman Side and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 18th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Little Warley Hall Lane, West Horndon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Warley Hall Lane, West Horndon in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 220m north of its junction with Saint Mary’s Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th July 2025 for 1 night (22:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701FSS2-18-09-070725 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
Alternative routes are available via
1. St Mary’s Lane, Childreditch Lane, Southend Arterial Road with (access only into Little Warley Hall Lane).
2. Southend Arterial Road, Slip Road From A127 To B186 Westbound, Warley Street, St Mary’s Lane with (access only into Little Warley Hall Lane).
The Order came into effect on 18th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Introduction of One Way) (Highland Avenue, Brentwood) & (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) (North Road, Brentwood) (Streetworks No.1) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood, as detailed in the Schedule.
2. To temporarily introduce a one way in that length of Highland Avenue, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Ongar Road to its junction with Treetops a distance of approximately 50m.
3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction in that length of North Road, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, as cited “The Essex County Council (North Road, Brentwood) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) Order 2008” for the duration of the closures on (Western Avenue & Waterloo Road).
The works are scheduled to commence after 18th June 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed/restricted to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
The closures/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.
The Order came into effect on 18th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
